hot-tub-bacterial-infection.jpg

In a way....

its a staph infection and is nasty and hard as hell to get rid of

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Staphylococcus_aureus

it can leave scars and lead to death

no more public hot tubs for me gawd I am sooo showering with antibacterial soap after at least

Glad I am a goth and stay out of those tanning beds as well...

I hear they catch fire

I love the hot tub gardens and usually go this time of year...but after reading this I might not anymore

Been there, popped them. The treatment for these ones that get out of control is to incise them and let them drain (incision and drainage, or I&D.) Then it gets packed with gauze (changed daily,) and allowed to heal from the inside out.

Done enough of these in the ER.

The big ones are painful. And bright red. The instant you relieve the pressure from under the skin, the red litterally fades away in seconds. Always impresses the 3rd year students. The most painful thing is not the incision, it is the taking down of loculations (or little pockets that form as the infection migrates beyond the hair follicle.) If you don't, the infection does not go away.

I didn't even think of the puss!

And I plan to become a veterinarian!

I used to hang out with a guy named Rob who was FILTHY and didn't take care of himself like he should have. He gets bit by a Brown Recluse, this was in Hazel Park, and he doesn't go in for treatment. The thing was on his forearm and it got to be HUGE, like the size of a huge pussing golfball under his skin, and pussing over the surface of his skin, it was GROSS. One day he's walking into the kitchen and hits his arm on the door jam, the thing pops and goes SPLAT all over the the place. He should be grateful that happened because many people lose limbs due to these types of bites.

I used to work at a state park where a guy got bit by one of those. He almost lost his arm, was in ICU for like two weeks. I saw the wound, it was rather...interesting.

      ~~~~~ Whenever I had an interview, I would be honest with the interviewer and actually say stuff like, "I talk a lot when I'm nervous", or I would ask if it was ok to speak candid during the interview or if I needed to stay professional.  Then I would wait to see what direction the interaction would go in.
      I'd probably cry everytime someone had to be disciplined. I'd end up approving everyone's time off request and working all by myself lol.  I do have an interview at a drug rehab, though. I hate interviews, I freeze and take forever to get to the point lol. I kinda want to go to another state and just try something new, though but my kids..maybe they would visit more,  though 🤔 😅 they're busy doing adult stuff and I'm still treating them like they're little.  It drives them crazy. Lol I think I drive them crazy. Lol
