If he didnt use the same actors for all of his movies? Mainly Johnny Depp but in general he recycles alot of actors and I think it really affects how much I enjoy his movies now. He could still make enjoyable movies and use different actors. I think it would work better for him, I mean look at Big Fish, that movie would have sucked if they used Johny Depp as the main, Helena was still in it though, but only for a short time. Im beating a dead horse here but im bored so I am trying to art a conversation.

Different actors might be nice...but show me someone that can act those parts like or better that Johnny Depp without having to commit suicide with perscription drugs after...

I like arting conversations too. Yeah, I'm torn on that one. In one sense, it's kind of fun, and in another, the repetition of faces interferes with my ability to evaluate the individual performances.

I remember a converstion like this some time ago...

I am a little sick of the Tim Burtony movies that he makes... I agree that Big Fish was one of his better ones because not only the same old actors, but the movie had a very different feel to it that was refreshing.

I guess I would like Tim Burton movies better if he changed his style a bit more, it seems like almost everything he makes you could sit back and say "That looks like a Tim Burton Movie"

yeah..... either they are stop motion, or singing or both. if there's a rare exception, i can't remember it. lol :)

I agree, but his style wont change, it would be cool if it did, but im guessing he is gonna stick with what he has been for well...forever.

Thats my problem with Depp, everyone thinks he is this great actor when in reality he can only act one part... Same with Morgan Freeman, they are good, but only at one thing, they arent what I would call A good actor.

Its the same yet different as with any actor I have seen. Now many actors in there action movies act the same? "Oh but they are so hot" is all I hear from people.

I guess I just see differences in places where there aren't. I watch movies to get away from reality, not pick apart the actors and directors. Someone else just has to grab Depp before he goes somewhere else...his role in Platoon may have been short but it was decent. I just give him credit because he is a really cool person in real life, I met him when he was filming in Wisconsin, and for the fact that he doesn't take a bunch of pills after playing a disturbing role...if he were the Joker we would be able to make another movie with him in it...

Eh, I think the allstar team is great...Burton, Depp, and Elfman...can't lose. XD I'm so easy to please tho..

He's a good director, not an elite-level one. Jean-Pierre Jeunet works with a few of the same actors as well, but he's capable of making more than one kind of movie.

He earned his fame with the fantastic Ed Wood. Batman was exceptional too. I still haven't seen Sweeny Todd yet.

See, I have no problem with that though. He's got a signature thing going for him and it works for me. I enjoy the movies he makes. Keep them coming and I'll keep watching them.

I think Tim Burton would be more enjoyable in 3-D. Wait, come to think of it I think he has a new movie coming out.

I think I see what you are saying but to me his signature is the movie, instead of it simply being a movie with his style.

Take another director with a very distinctive style like say Kubrick, he made all sorts of movies with different characters, depth, meanings, etc.... And they all are very much "Kubrick Like"... but they all don't look and feel the same as the last one.

Well Kubrick is a film god in my opinion so its not fair to compare Burton to him.

I agree with what you said but comparing most directors to kubrick isnt fair, lol.

Lets say Hitchcock then.... he made several movies that were all his own... but tried new things as well

Wait...you admit it's unfair to compare someone to Kubrick..and then pull out Hitchcock? The original and best? Wha?
