e-jewell Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 I unfortunately work the midnight shift at McDonalds. Fine. The truth is out. I'm a McWorker, at a place I can't stand the food or regulations. They work with my school schedule every time it changes, and I'm not likely to get fired for no reason. Anyways midnight-shifters are very much discriminated against. Day shift workers take time off ALL the time, and they don't even get in trouble for it. At the store I work at there are only three people, plus a manager, who work the midnight shift. If you want a night off you have to ask for it about a month in advance, and even then they might tell you to fuck off because we're understaffed. Frankly I find the discrimination hilarious, and made my sentiments known on the bulletin board. The store manager's all pissy with me now. My sign stayed up for a good 3 days, everyone loved it except her stoic self. Anyone else do similar things at shitty jobs? Pics a plus.
TomCat Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 I made a long time "bad client" a long Island Iced Tea on my last day working at a bar in college. The "tequila" I used was in fact, recycled Patron. My coworkers and good clients were buying me drinks and shots all night long. I was hammered and at last call, he had the nerve to ask me to "comp him a drink." I did...after drinking my "con-cock-tion" He made a snide comment, that he didn't like it, and that the ice must've been bad, as it had a weird "wangy taste." I almost pissed my self with laughter. Mind you, this is a guy who'd have a $40-$50 tab every night, and his tip was "rounding up to the next dollar" and putting it on his credit card. For two years, every Fri and Sat night, my total tips from this bozo, sitting at my bar, was about 60 bucks. He was there taking up a good bar space from 8-close every time. He complained about EVERYTHING. So that's wht he got from me, in parting.
