this guy I know uses point systems for hooking up.

I lose points cause I am older...ya get points if your younger...

Like if a girl has a nice rack he gives her 10 points take off 5 if she is pudgy and so on

I asked about intelligence and he didn't even really rate that unless she was real dumb...

Or spirituality. It didn't enter the equation.

which surprised me cause you have to be able to carry on a conversation until 3am if your hooking up...right? Something meaningful...even on a friendship level...

Have you ever used a point system for rating potential hookups anyone?

I am more of a clicking person. If something about us click and the feeling is mutual, I try to give it a shot. A lot of what it takes to click is based off my list of what I look for in a woman.

Mutual lust gets quite a bit, but I would also like to look for more than just hooking up; discussion partner, workout partner, someone to geek out with on a semi-regular basis.

Yes, I used a point system during my long search-- but not based upon such shallow attributes. I have always worried more about the truth of a man's heart, his personal capabilities, whether we have things in common, and his sense of humour.

Shame on him, for being so shallow!

Yes it was rather shallow, which surprised me as he is not that way when gaging how far friendships go. And you have to be friends first at least in my book

And the truthfulness of a mans heart...things like that, how can you put a price or point on? Some things just mean so much more I would be willing to over look allot for.

I do not use the point system I use the honesty system, and one month trial.

in other words,if she lies once,or is undecisive thats it,in other words GET LOST!

I hate liars!

I think most people have some kind of point system/scale, whether they want to admit it or not. I also think that every one of them will throw it out for the right person.

I guess it depends on what you mean by "hook-ups". If it's just for casual sex/flings, then why not go by physical attributes. If it's for actual relationships, then, yeah, that's pretty darn shallow.

There are different types of intelligence so its hard to rate that. as for spirituality, I could care less since im an athiest.

No. If it's a situation where I think things may get serious, I'll make a pro/con list... but don't assign points for specific attributes. My thought processes aren't that methodical; it's more a gestalt thing. Certain "pros" may outweigh certain "cons", others may not.

After any intial "rush" we all use a cerebral points system just not labeled as such. The little (and not so little) things add up over time. Just some of us are more prone to notice the negatives or the positives more readily. Not an aggregate points calculation per Se, but very similar for most everyone in one way or another. With no "mental ledger" we would be awash in reckless, painful and just plain stupid actions from one minute to the next. Er wait... I resemble that remark.
