Yeah, maybe he seems a tad off his rocker, but at least he knows who he is... Unlike most people I have met.

I agree... and yeah, Lizard Man is way cooler... maybe just 'cos he is more conventionally attractive underneath all the mods.

What jobs do people like this get?

They get jobs that they actually find enjoyable and fulfilling, rather than ones where they have to force themselves to get up each morning.

When I first started my dreadlocks (back in the early '80s when they were nowhere near as accepted as now), one of my reasons was to disqualify myself from ever having to work in some soul-killing corporate setting. I suspect this is at least partly the reason for a lot of facial or otherwise unconcealable mods.

I know the tokage-san is a professional freak... but there are plenty of lucrative work-from-home and freelance type gigs that don't require conformity to a dress code. And attitudes toward these things are relaxing more all the time... so OK, Tokage-san and Tora-san won't be working at IBM anytime soon, but just wait... the current generation of kids are growing up to view body modification as a fairly normal thing. Things will be different once they're in charge.
