I think I would target all the supposed contested Holy Lands around the world. I would warn the people first. Wouldn't even really need a full nuke. Hit the areas with so much nuclear radiation that no one could survive on the land. Without all the fighting over the magic dirt any longer there might be a chance for world peace.

Well, tried to take out Jerusalem, Mecca, Constantinople and the Vatican, trying to keep it localized within the city limits (there is a reason they are called tactical nuclear warheads.) Of all the places, the Vatican would give me the greatest heartbreak to see go because of the collateral damage to Rome (the heat blast from Little Boy would destroy much of the local Roman architecture.) :(

Interesting to note that a 400kt bomb would make the south side of Oahu pretty much uninhabitable. I think the mountain range and wind spares the north side from fallout.

Looks like if Detroit were targeted, the only things I'd have to worry about is an asteroid impact and possibly the Tsar Bomb or whatever it was called. But I'm just barely outside the radius for that one. Ah ... suburbs. lol

But...who would nuke Detroit? Honestly, it probably low on the list of big targets to hit...and I have a feeling that even an asteroid would try to avoid Detroit as much as possible. If anything, the country targeting their nukes would get a few snapshots of Detroit and think that it has already been hit by a nuke...a depression nuke.

Oh yeah...but they have the perfect camo...shitty surroundings! I mean, if Honda or JD was making shit they would be an easy target because all their plants are clean and kept-up, along with them being in good areas...but Detroit...meh, they would probably nuke a hundred other locations first.

Back in the '70s, Detroit was supposedly 2nd on the list of American cities targeted by the Soviets. Right after Washington, DC. The I75-I94 interchange would've received multiple 1 and 3 meg hits. Mainly airbursts, which is an option we didn't have here. :(

Detroit and the surrounding burbs would get hit due to the auto plants. Dont forget in world war 2 the plants were changed over to make our war machines. Thats is the main reason we prevailed. Our production lines can mass produce. Even with the big 3 failing it would not take much to do some change overs and start making tanks,planes and what not. Theres been an old rumour that their was a nuke under van dyke avenue in Warren next to the old tank plant. The story goes that the road actually will open up on hinges and the nuke will come up. Kinda freaky thinking that I might live close to that.
