Out in the wild: Clubs in other states

I've only been to City twice since November. This is not because I've forsaken the place, but because (as perhaps four of you are aware) we loaded ourselves and our club gear into an RV and set out to roam the wilds of America for a few years. Or for ever. Not sure yet.

Anyway, Lexie and I have been wandering from place to place and invading every interesting-looking club we can find, which is being kind of an interesting education in the way the "scene" works on a national level. I've been posting writeups of the clubs we go to, and after our brief return to Detroit last month decided to pen a "report" on CC as well, just so folks would know where I came from. If anyone's interested in it, it's here.

Other club reports can be found under the "Clubs" tag. There will be more; we have recently invaded Dallas and Austin, Texas.

P.S.: I had hoped to get some interior pix of the club from Roman, but it unfortunately didn't happen...

Fixed, thanks.

Just started reading, seems to be a good article so far but you need to actually proof read rather than just run spellcheck "themed-1908's"

Thanks. I'm trying hard to refrain from getting defensive, because I DO proofread rather than relying on the spellchecker. But whatever, mistakes happen, and the great thing about the interweb is that they can be corrected. Please let me know if you find any other typos on the site.

Well I just got done reading the article, which was very well written, and I didn't notice anything else. Then again I'm not an English professor or anything but if I can see it and point it out... I tend to spell check and proofread, I mean why take chances.

Seriously though kudos on the article. I really miss the days of when I was naive and thought it was awesome, and this brought back some memories.

I thought it was a very good write up. Kodos to you.

Thanks! I figured CC's been entertaining me for (holy fuck!) 17 years, so I ought to return the love...

Thanks for sharing. I'm curious to hear what you and Lexie think of Austin and Dallas, two cities I really like.

Keep writing!

If you are heading out to the DC area, ping me. I know of a couple of places there.

WONDERFUL place in Dallas. I'll probably post a report at our site in the next couple of weeks. I'm more ambivalent about the club here in Austin, which will also go up ere long. And I hear rumors that there are 3+ weekly goffnights currently in San Antonio, plus an "industrial rave" or something coming up in a few weeks...we're feeling excitable!

Sweet! Will do. Inside information is always helpful. I've heard that the DC scene is pretty big and well-established.

Can I just say that two goth people traveling around in an RV kinda amuses me.

Yeah, you should see how the old folks in the RV parks react when we step outside... Actually, I kid, they're usually friendly, with a definite vibe of, "So, um, what are you DOING here, exactly? Did you steal that motorhome? Please don't eat our brains."

Yes I love road trips, stopping for gas in rural areas and watching people stare at my knee high boots and bondage pants.

I'm thinking I'm going to be moving to AZ, soon! Can't wait! I friggin' love it here! The heat doesn't bother me at all and the best part? NO SNOW!!! (S.N.O.W. - Shit  No One Wants)   Been staying in Bullhead City where the kids and grandkids live. Next, we're going to the wife's cousin's which is a ways North of Kingman, in the middle of nowhere, where we actually plan to move.   I really like Bullhead. It's a nice little town. Not overcrowded like Colorado Springs has become, at all. Very light traffic, reasonable prices on everything, low taxes, etc. The river offers a lot to do, with a lot of beaches and campgrounds all around it.   But yeah even though we've been over 110º-115º F just about every day,  I can handle it!  What I can't handle anymore, is snow and being cold. Just tired of it. Give me the desert over a blizzard any day!

Nope, we wasn't doing anything. I didn't want to go by myself.  I ended up doing karaoke here. It would of been a perfect day to go, though.
