KMFDM Blitz review...

So i found me a nice advance copy of BLITZ the new KMFDM record.

Its... well... different... There are tracks I would almost consider straight up pop ("Strut") to some nice typical KMFDM stuff ("Devai", "Potz Blitz").

Its VERY Lucia heavy which im really not happy about thus far. It isnt ATTAK thankfully but it isnt SYMBOLS or NIHIL.

I do dig the tracks "Symbols" and "Never Say Never" (even though its a Lucia heavy song) as well at 'Devai' and 'Potz Blitz'

I cant help but be reminded of the track "Power" from XTORT alot while listening to it.

I like it (got my advance copy from scrapetorrent). Well some of it anyway.

I stopped viewing bands as albums a long time ago and just individual tracks. One track might be legendary while the rest might be mediocre or just suck all together.

I'm really disappointed that Raymond Watts is not involved in this one in any way. A bulk of my favorite KMFDM tracks involve him. For that reason, Attak and WW3 are my favorite reunion KMFDM albums. ww3 in particular was great. And I mean almost Nihil-quality great.

I do love alot of the Pig heavy albums. "Unfit" is one of my fav songs ever... I am sad that he hasnt and wont be on future albums for awhile but what irks me the most is the heavy usage of Lucia.

I like when she gets angry on songs but her singing voice just too pop for my tastes. I like her better as a secondary/backup than as a frontwoman.

After a listen to the "Blitz" album I wasn't quite impressed at all. I might need a few more listens to get into it unlike the Skold vs KMFDM, I was hooked after the first listen.

Will check it out, but with the mixed reviews I won't hold my breath. Then again, I might think it's awesome, who knows? Never know until you give it a listen. I'll probably preview it on free.napster.com before I go buying anything though.
