hmmmm...on livenation it has the prodigy tickets at $30.

We probably will not be going to the weekend festivities, but I am 99% sure I will be dragging The Evil Fish to see the Prodigy that Friday.

But those substances are readily available in just about any concert, club, or festival. If you don't do them, then you probably don't need to worry about those who do being a bother. The majority of incidents with people and drama are alcohol related more so than any other drugs.

There are A LOT of people on drugs at tech fest (demf). a lot of them that you might think are on drugs may just be drunk, but i would say as much as 55-60% (ballparking it) are on some sort of illegal substance. yes the pot isn't so bad, but if you were there for a few hours and didn't see evidence of some kids being on drugs, that would seriously surprise me.

YES if you say no no one's going to pressure you into it, that's true. However expect to be approached by plenty of 15-25 year old kids quite possibly wearing an entire JoAnn's crafting aisle as bracelets and necklaces, sucking on pacifiers and asking you if you have any ecstacy, acid or shrooms. Just say no and they will be perfectly polite and let you be. Also expect the possibility that one of these kids may come up to you and ask for/offer a hug or back rub, or possibly rave about how pretty you or your outfit is. Again, polite refusal or "thank you" and walk away works just fine. Put bluntly you will not meet too many shy individuals at tech fest.

If drugs REALLY bother you and extremely friendly people really bother you, this probably isn't the event to go to. But, if you check out some techno (particularly trance and progressive, not quite as much house/drum and bass is played but it is played, depending on the stage) and decide you like it, pick some friends to group up with, and plan for some very interesting people watching, it can be very enjoyable. The druggies don't ruin it for most people.

Also, buy one water bottle and keep filling it from the bathroom sinks. It's clean, relatively pure water, not dirty, comes straight from detroit water plants and believe it or not detroit actually has a really good water purification system.
