Violence in Mexico

What do you, the DGN citizen, think is the best way to solve the problem in Mexico (and by problem I mean the kidnappings, killings, brutality, etc...of their drug gangs)?

Nothing. I understand that a lot of guns and what not are being smuggled from the US to Mexico and frankly I don't care. Thats means less illegal guns here. If they want to go on killing eachother I don't give a fuck. If they were crossing US borders to kill that would be another story. What they do in Mexico is Mexico's issue. It seems to me we have more then enough to worry about in our own country at the moment.

I don't know.

I do know that this saturday, my sister, nephew, niece& her bf, and my bro-in-law are goin on vacation to Cancun Mexico. I tried to voice my concerns about the violence going on down there, and how so many news stories have come out about advising against going there for vacation.

Sadly, my sister & neice both decided to be foolish and stubborn and have ignored my concerns.

I just hope they all come back in one piece.

Hillary says it's all our fault. I'm with Jinxy though, make the pot legal.

a lot of it has to do with heroin and meth yes meth and coke. so you would have to legalize all of it

They should just turn it into a reality TV show...The Mexican. Stick little cameras on ramdom people down there...it would give us info and alot of laughs. With the rising number of youth joining in on this action I belive that the military is no longer the default choice for high school dropouts. Also, it might get Americans into the year 2008 with their gang history where white supremacy gangs are small is dissorganized and where minority, yep I said it, gangs are big, strong, and very violent. If you know about MS13 raise your hands...if you know about the Mexican Mafia raise your hands...

Kinda true...but alot of the guns we have here are smuggled from Canada. From what I have seen about half of the guns that come to the States get sent down to Mexico...the crappy half.

They are crossing the borders to kill people...in a way. My friend Rob used to live on the border in Texas but they moved along with alot of other people due to the horrible violence taking place along the borders...and that was three years ago. It is worse and I do not see it getting any better as long as there is only the Mexican police, our border patrol, and our local law enforcement...all of which are crap for one reason or another. The gangs down there have larger numbers, better vehicles, better and more weapons, and support from the locals.

I don't care what anyone else says...its is time for someone to send a force down there to crack some fucking skulls because someone has yet to put up a decent show of force down ther besides the criminals. They will back down if we can do more than threaten deportation, handcuffs, tear gas, and maybe a few bruises from bean bag shells from a 12 gauge.

THE EXACT ANSWER I WAS LOOKING FOR!

I knew quite a few mexicans in AZ a lot of them love the meth, they are good at making it to...it was the best I ever had.

Just wanna add, anytime you buy illegal drugs...you fuel an illegal drug war.

decriminalize pot - sane answer

occupation of Mexico - what we're probably going to do instead

The truth (whether anyone likes it or not) is that anytime something is made illegal you create a black market. Prices skyrocket, and the only people who really benefit are gangs. Legalization and regulation puts the control in the hands of the government (I know, GOVERNMENT CONTROL ) scary). At that point it makes it harder for children to get their hands on it just as it's currently harder to get alcohol than weed (if you're a minor). That's less money spent a war that can't be won, more money coming in from something we can refer to as a "dope tax", and that means you don't have to tax cigarettes as much.

The first one is already happening...

The second one...whoever is left in Mexico is obviously doing one hell of a job. Local resources are being used efficiently, unemployment is going down, decisions are made quickly and effectively...

Shit, I don't see how adding any violence down there could make things any worse. If there is another action that would do better, like make a difference, I would love to hear it...but sadly most of those options are tried and truly shitty...

One thing that I don't agree with is that alcohol is harder to get that weed when it comes to minors...TONS of minors are drinking, it is more "popular" for them than cigarettes and weed...

I dont think WE should do anything to fix Mexico. Mexico's corrupt government should be over thown by it's own people.

I do think we should do more to control the border... like plant a good sized force thier with that authority to stop anyone trying to cross the border.
