Der Nister Posted April 9, 2009 Posted April 9, 2009 I listen to my favorite songs. It's the only thing that helps me thru.
brandywine0880 Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 I listen to a guilty pleasure song. Something inspirational like...Josh Groban...or The Judds. (I said guilty pleasure) Or I go buy some new makeup or nail polish or i text some random fun number and hope to get a response
Troy Spiral (13) Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 Distraction. Doing something interactive that forces us to think about something other than ourselves works well. There are a million other coping techniques but that, I've found for me anyway is the most immediate, reliable fix. Problem is it isn't a long term fix. But it is helpful. The longer term fixes would depend on the situation and could take up several novels. Hope you feel better. *hugs*
honeymustard02 Posted April 11, 2009 Posted April 11, 2009 Somethings I do when I feel down are simple things. I break out my art supplies and get dirty. Finger painting and doing collages. Just fun!!! I bake cookies or cakes. Whatever I have on hand. I go for walks with my digital camera. Really simple things that just get my mind off things and get out of my house. I find if you sit home and just brood, you tend to fall deeper in your hole. Too much thinking!
FarrIL Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 (edited) I write, draw and sleep. And sometimes talk about it with someone close. I'll either talk about it with my man or a my manager. If nothing else, like I said, I sleep more. Edit: I agree with honeymustard too.... walks with digital cameras are also a good outlet. Or practice self-portraiture, you sometimes get some nice shots. Timers are your friend. =3 Edited April 14, 2009 by FarrIL
