Simon Bar Sinister Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 that way the cops won't have to shut down 5 miles of a busy freeway to try and talk your ass down, you attention-seeking piece of shit. [/rant]
TitsMcGee Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 I just read the article, how long were you stuck in traffic?
ttogreh Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 As I understand it, a suicidal man was threatening to jump off of a highway overpass, thereby screwing traffic up quite royally. Of course, had he jumped, he could have landed on a minivan full of a soccer team, which probably would have made traffic even worse. If you are suicidal... be a dear and threaten to kill yourself in your own home. People are trying to get to work.
bean Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 696 was closed in both directions at either Dequindre or Ryan road because there was some guy on an overpass threatening to jump.

Rev.Reverence Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 you guys r all heart ...what? If someone thinks that they are takin' an honorable way out...COOL...that is what garages are for. .....I personally think they are vile sinners. (This includes the old me.) ..k?...K!...BIFERNAO!
Homicidalheathen Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 yah I don't agree with suicide either...I think thats where ghosts come from...suicide and violent death one is not ready for. but I give it to the cops for trying to save one's life who is mentally unstable... However if your going to do it just od in your own home and leave us out of it yes...he was obviously after attention....I suppose he is locked in a mental institution getting 'attention' now...!
Shade Everdark Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 While I hope the fellow gets the help he needs (counseling both for the suicide threat and likely for domestic violence issues that were mentioned on the DFP's website), the fact that he caused major traffic problems for half the metro area's populace (75 got backed up, too, around the interchange, as I understand it) adds a layer of rudeness (to put it politely) to an already very selfish act.
StormKnight (1) Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 Hopfully, since he has proven himself a danger to himself, they have him in a mandated (for up to 48 hours, I believe,) psychiatric observation.
Simon Bar Sinister Posted May 7, 2009 Author Posted May 7, 2009 I just read the article, how long were you stuck in traffic? I wasn't; I only go to the East Side for fun time.
TitsMcGee Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Hopfully, since he has proven himself a danger to himself, they have him in a mandated (for up to 48 hours, I believe,) psychiatric observation. It most likely got an involuntary 72 hour psych hold.
