Hello All,

My name is Matt and I'm hoping that someone could suggest a club or dark music night in Detroit that we could play. My band, The Drowning Season, is traveling from Baltimore to Chicago to play at Wax Tracks II Record’s Dave’s "Sunday Showcases at Darkroom." We were looking to play another show in another city, since we're already miles from home and who knows when we'll be back! We're scheduled to play at Darkroom on Sunday, Aug. 23rd. Would it be possible to play a show in Detroit the either Sat., 08/22/09 or Mon., 08/24/09?

We're an old school guitar goth rock band, influenced by the Sisters, Mission and Nephilim, along with tons of other bands. We've been around forever and have played with many top name acts: The Cruxshadows, The Mission UK, Assemblage 23, Stromkern, The Last Dance, and The Azoic (most recently at Dracula's Ball in Philly on March 21, 2009). We're currently promoting our new CD, CURSE, which has received great reviews and lots of club play.

Please respond here ASAP and let me know if there's any clubs/nights in Detroit that might work.

Take care,

Matt

I *think* Xilla Toxic on this board still does some promo stuff and events for a joint she works at. Message her.

This 👆 definitely goes with what I said in my other post - getting old sucks. Seems like *everything* takes longer and takes more energy out of me than it used to. Really need to work on my diet and exercise, I've found the older I get, the more important those things have really become...

Well we were supposed to leave last night, but life has a way of making plans for you. I'm about to get up and get ready to go on our vacation. Had and still have a lot to do.  Not easy to just up and leave a ranch with a lot of animals and things that need taken care of. We even have people here to watch and tend things while we're gone, but still.   I had to change the radiator in my car before we leave - got that done last night. Took a lot more out of me than I thought it would, so by the time I finished I had little energy for anything else. Today I just have a couple more quick things to do on the car, like cleaning it and packing stuff. Couple of minor things to do around the ranch today, as well.   I figure we should be on the road this evening sometime. I'm looking forward to it. We're going to see the wife's side of the family, people I actually like,  in Vegas and AZ. Should only be gone for a few days, maybe a week. Going to the Grand Canyon and Lake Mead and all kinds of stuff in between, so I'm pretty stoked. I LOVE the Southwest.   Wish me luck that my car survives the desert! (Hence new radiator) 🤠👍

Sometimes sleep can be a scary thing.  I passed out so hard at 4:54pm today.  Yesterday wiped me out with rentals, appointments and helping a lost dog get back home.  Fortunately, I found him on Facebook and contacted the owners and he was picked up before nightfall.  But I think I totally overdid it and paid for it today in the middle of handling business.  Thankfully it was some work at home stuff.   I definitely do not like being that kind of tired.  It's like the World could end and I'd wake up afterwards trying to find out what happened.
