This, I can't believe was allowed to happen:

In an embarrassing acknowledgment, the space agency said Thursday that it must have erased the Apollo 11 moon footage years ago so that it could reuse the videotape.

Why the hell would someone do that?!?!?!?

But it seems they are gonna fix the issue anyways.

What are your thoughts?

I read some related articles yesterday after I posted about the 40th anniversary of the moon landing. Apparently they haven't yet given up that they're gone. They just have a lot of material to search through...

Yeah heard about that. Unfortuantely every day Nasa and the related private agencies do something good or discover some new tech or have new insights into the universe, but the media focuses on stuff like that. Bad news sells unfortunately. :(
