Okay, DM, you and I have been friends for a long time, and you know I'm cool with you, so hopefully I can say this to you without you taking it the wrong way:

You've got to calm down a little, man! I don't know if you've had a specific problem with one or two people bothering you privately, but I do know that the majority of the people here don't care about your age or your relationship status, in fact I'd venture to guess at least half the people here don't even pay attention to how old someone is, or whether they're attached. All they care about is how you say the things you say, and you bring this subject (age and status) up all of the time. Stop focusing on it and I guarantee other people will, too.

I don't know what triggered this thread from you, since the links that you posted are not from this site, and really have nothing to do with this site. No one is looking down on you for getting laid off. We're all dealing with the repercussions of this fucked up economy right now: old and young, married and single, skilled and unskilled. Sorry if I'm a little off topic but what baffles me is there are some men, who are in their late 20's and up who are only interested or checking out women who are 18 to 25. I love women who are 5 to ten years older than me. They seem to be the best on a personality level. They are also less insecure. I don't mean to sound sexist or stereo tipical, another words I'm not knocking the ladies 25 or younger. Just express how I love women 35 and over. I've dated women in the age bracket of 23 to 25. Bottom line: as long as someone keeps themselves up well and has a decent personality, I don't care how old they are, they don't even have to tell me. I've been attracted to women how were old enough to be my mother.

I'm sick of hearing whining about ficticious "ageism" on the board. It's like people look for stuff to bitch about now-a-days...geez. What ageism? If you show me examples of it then I'll be more inclined to take your side on this but I've been moderating this board for god-knows-how-long now and that's one of the subjects that has never surfaced in staff chat, nor have I seen any threads/posts to back up this notion.

If you have a problem with members or a particular post and you believe that you are being wrongly discriminated against...that's why mods are here. Airing it out on the board just causes drama, everyone knows how this works.

I'm sorry that you believe all of the people on this board discriminate against your age...although I will say it's silly since a good majority of the people on here who "discriminate against your age" happen to be your age. Just relax and be yourself man, don't focus on a number, we're such a gigantic mish-mash of styles, lifestyles, gender, age, religion, race, etc, nobody really can discriminate against anyone else on here, and furthermore, why would someone want to or even bother?
