Soulrev Posted June 1, 2005 Posted June 1, 2005 Anyone ever have those days where you're just not all there? I tend to have some days like that.. I mean, I can build computers, fix cars (for a living), and do all kinds of shit but sometimes I can't manage to remember to do tasks and simple shit? Lol. I dunno I guess I get absent-minded a bit here and there..
dragoth Posted June 1, 2005 Posted June 1, 2005 Hell yes soulrev, I know exactly what you mean. I manage technical projects at my work that would take teams of people to accomplish otherwise.......yet I almost get fired every week because I fucking cant remember to clock in and out. I have the worst short term memory there is.
Head Wreck Posted June 1, 2005 Posted June 1, 2005 been known on several occasions to have forgotten my name sad fact was i had to ask my manager whats my name whilst i was doing things for him that he couldnt do (spreadsheets)
Brenda Starrr Posted June 1, 2005 Posted June 1, 2005 My son is autistic. He doesn't seem to have a problem with his memory. You guys, on the other hand, are suffering from senility.
SomeDanGuy Posted June 1, 2005 Posted June 1, 2005 Same problem here - the classic 'absent-minded professor' syndrome. Remembering facts and complex tasks, no problem. Remembering the day-to-day, time-sensitive stuff? Terrible. I had the same problem clocking in an out when my job required that, I forget appointments, I do stuff like go to the store but forget my wallet all the time. It's at least a weekly occurance that I have to turn around and come back home to get something I've forgotten almost immediately after leaving. I'm curious how many women here have these sorts of problems?
pixiefae Posted June 1, 2005 Posted June 1, 2005 I also suffer from short-term memory problems. Call it what you will. Technical stuff-computer programs, mathematical equations and formula...no problem. Where my keys are, what day it is...big problems. My husband has learned to deal with it. Hell, I can't even remember the exact date we got married. I just know it's near the end of August. LOL (I think he likes this, cause he's never late at bringing me presents.) hehe
bean Posted June 2, 2005 Posted June 2, 2005 Actually most autistic individuals have an excellent memory. As for me, I'm lucky if I can remember what I did yesterday! hehe
SpidersMoment Posted June 2, 2005 Posted June 2, 2005 I have blonde moments and absent minded moments all the time. I get so involved in what im doing at work, pricing stuff, sorting things and when it comes time to either change the price gun or put the stuff away, i forget where the hell im going, what i need to bring or leave. My most frequent problem is where my boss tells me to do something then do something else, i either do them both the same way, or i just go completely blank as to what she told me to do witht eh second thing. UH OH!!! CODE BROWN!! CODE BROWN!

bean Posted June 2, 2005 Posted June 2, 2005 I try telling this to some of my familes, about their own children, and they think I don't know what I'm talking about! :blink
SomeDanGuy Posted June 3, 2005 Posted June 3, 2005 Where my keys are, what day it is...big problems. Haha, exactly! Without my watch to tell me the date I'd be sooo lost. I often forget where I'm going while in the middle of driving, and I couldn't list all the possessions I've lost. Sounds like we're all in good company here. I'm sure hilarity would ensue if we all hung out in a group together. There'd be lik 8 people wandering around with no idea where they were or what date it was

Paper Hearts Posted June 3, 2005 Posted June 3, 2005 Hell i remember one time somone asked me my name and i had to think about it for a second. :laughing <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Just think of Ancient Greese or the northern suberb. I often have to think about how old I am whne someone asks.
bean Posted June 3, 2005 Posted June 3, 2005 I often have to think about how old I am whne someone asks. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I have to do that too sometimes. Right after I got married and changed my name I would forget that it was changed and sign stuff with my old last name :doh
