Fierce Critter Posted June 3, 2005 Posted June 3, 2005 Welcome to the DGN Pet Show! An unofficial, virtual showcase for DGN pets. Include a picture if you want, but descriptions will do. What would be the description of your pet if they were entered in an official dog, cat, etc. show?
Fierce Critter Posted June 3, 2005 Author Posted June 3, 2005 Introducing: Oakley! Oakley is a purebred German Shepherd of dubious, American-bred stock. If he was actually registered, his official, snooty-snoot name would be something like "Oakley, James Taylor's Tribute To Indy". Oakley is 2 years old. His grandfather is the standard on record for his color category. He has been known to get gum stuck in his fur and, as a result, has sometimes been referred to as "Gum Flank". Oakley is slightly pigeon-toed and positive for hip displaysia (the reason he is not registered). His gait is more rabbit-like than doglike. When not busy at dog shows, Oakley likes to chase frisbees, but not bring them back. He likes to chew on plush sharks, sticks, and cat heads, and as a result, has sometimes been referred to as "Ass Dog". Among his special talents are comforting people when they cry, behaving incredibly well when out in public, defending the home against invisible intruders with an impressive bark, and peeing himself when you approach him from the head. Give a nice, warm welcome to Oakley!
Paper Hearts Posted June 3, 2005 Posted June 3, 2005 I have a cat named Weenie and she is maybe 6 years old? -I bought her in Arizona and my best guess is that she came from a Mexican Cat Ranch, which is why I sometimes caller "Nunez" after a Mexican girl I once knew. -We all think she is from a cat ranch, because she is very strange...like you can read most cats body language very well, but not her and also she slobbers and likes to make out with shoes. -I named her weenie because she is long and skinny like a weiner dog.
Brenda Starrr Posted June 3, 2005 Posted June 3, 2005 Trixie is almost 7 and 23lbs of pure pudding and fuzz. Sunny aka Psycho Kitty is almost 2 and didn't grow to her full size. Trixie was rescued from in between 2 walls in New York with her siblings. Sunny was rescued with 3 other siblings by Wayne and I from underneath a concrete slab. We got them just before Hurricane Isabel hit. I had actually chosen another, but Sunny chose us, and that was that.
bean Posted June 3, 2005 Posted June 3, 2005 My cat is named Charlotte, and she is a calico, with markings around her mouth that maker her look like she has a moustache. I bought her from a flea market in Mexican Town when she was three months old, and she is now 4 years old. She loves people and will "flirt" with anyone that comes into our home, even strangers. She likes to climb my curtains, run through the house like her ass is on fire, eat lettuce, and sleep on my head at night. She also likes to rummage through purses. When the neighborhood cats hang out on the front porch, she trys to be tough and snorts at them while doing some sort of kung-fu moves to show the other cats that she means business. When she does this, my husband and I call her "Westsiiiide" (her gangsta name) because she trys to be thug-like. Charlotte doesn't like to be told "no," and will give you an annoyed look when you say it to her, thus her other nickname "Queen Charlotte." When she was a kitten, she would shove her nose up one of my nostrils when I would come home from somewhere and be sitting at the dining room table. My avatar is a picture of her when she was 6 months old or so.
Fierce Critter Posted June 3, 2005 Author Posted June 3, 2005 OMFG - I'm about to bust a gut laughing at Trixie...
Brenda Starrr Posted June 3, 2005 Posted June 3, 2005 Trixie loves baths, too. This is good because she is too big to clean her own butt. Sunny won't do it for her, either.
Fierce Critter Posted June 3, 2005 Author Posted June 3, 2005 Introducing: Ripley! Ripley is a 3-year old, female black tabby cat of questionable lineage. Ripley comes to us from a woman desperately trying to give away her 6-week old kittens before her husband makes this, the mama cat's 2nd litter, "disappear" like he did the first ones. Ripley's coat is unique in that, though technically black all over, she has a spot of white pubes and weird flecks of white here-and-there, including anyplace she's ever had a nick or cut, where the hair grew back in white instead of black. Her owner sometimes contemplates dyeing those white spots with red vegetable dyes, as that would just be "too goth". Ripley's mew is an unusual, peeping chirp, a sound which earned her the nickname "Seagull Kitten" when initially brought home. The owner's first official cat, Ripley is Alpha Female in the household, a position which is well-respected and observed at all times by the rest of the feline household. Ripley will enforce her status with fierce "putting the smack downs" on any cat who is stupid enough to challenge her authori-tie. Ripley likes to lie on the bed next to her owners, particularly the female one, and "butter" or "knead" at her like a little kitten. Oddly, she sometimes gets her back paws into the action too, which is very difficult to describe, yet impressive to behold. Ripley is known to be incredibly sweet at one moment, then inexplicably decide to kill you. She is, in part, the inspiration for Fierce Critter's signature line of, "I know where you sleep". Ripley likes her gums rubbed and will kill you if you touch her white pubes. Let's give a warm welcome to Ripley! (By the way, the "Halloween Cat Stance" she's doing in the picture was a result of Jon inviting a new dog into the house. Ripley did NOT approve. The dog found a new home.)
Brenda Starrr Posted June 3, 2005 Posted June 3, 2005 This is Polyester (left) and Chiquita Parakeeta. Polyester was given to me by my parents. Chiquita was caught at my ex-mother-in-law's bird feeder. My ex talked me into her by using our children as bait. I'm thinking of getting a third one. That cage is big enough....
Nienna Posted June 3, 2005 Posted June 3, 2005 This is Racha. (Full name is Ivy Lita Racha Doo) She is a 6 year old tortie kitty with diabolical intelligence and a sassy attitude. She seems to love bouncing around in the "Halloween Kitty" pose best of all other activities. She always sleeps on a pillow next to mine on my bed, and plan to take over the world... if she could just get outside. The name Racha comes from the sound she makes. Like a Pokemon, she basically just says variations of her name. I have yet to hear a true cat sound come out of her. Racha kind of chose me. I went to the local shelter and intended to take home a different kitten, but the lady told me Racha would be put down the next morning, so that was that. She was really really sick, and probably too young and I had to bottle feed her for a few weeks. I think that's partly why she's so incredibly affectionate and cuddly! Racha loves everyone, regardless of their feelings toward her.
JaneDead Posted June 4, 2005 Posted June 4, 2005 This is Polyester (left) and Chiquita Parakeeta. omg love the names! lol
SomeDanGuy Posted June 6, 2005 Posted June 6, 2005 My fur children are Sarge and Kira. I got them from a shelter when I moved to michigan in july. It might be because I live alone with them, but I've never had any cats as affectionate and devoted as these two. They follow me everywhere for all my daily activities and want love all the time. Being cute on the couch. Sarge is the black long-hair They are pretty much always laying on my computer desk while I am at my computer. Sarge is fat and fluffy. His face is kinda weird and wolf-like and he usually has a vacant stare. He licks water off of my legs after I shower. He'll put his teeth on you if you stop petting him. Kira would be a hunter if she could get outside. I've taught her to wave on command. She smiles at me and closes her eyes whenever we make eye contact. Awww!
Brenda Starrr Posted June 6, 2005 Posted June 6, 2005 OMG Dan.... Wayne and I are rolling over that top pic!!
Aralis Posted June 6, 2005 Posted June 6, 2005 Here are my beloved pets! My cat Buddy Bud. He thinks he is a dog and is a mama's boy. He is 9 years old and is terrified of dogs. He likes to play fetch and try to open closed doors. He is a s&m cat. He loves his tail pulled and enjoys being pet real hard. He hates to be held. Chi chi boy the Chinchilla...aka Reznor. Chi chi boy is about 12 years old. He is very curious and gets more and more excited the longer you let him out on your lap. Notice the extra latch we put on his cage. He use to be able to slide the metal latch and open the cage up! Bud loves helping trim the tree!
Aralis Posted June 6, 2005 Posted June 6, 2005 This is Racha. (Full name is Ivy Lita Racha Doo) She is a 6 year old tortie kitty <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I love those tortoise colored cats!
Fierce Critter Posted June 6, 2005 Author Posted June 6, 2005 I'm loving these pet pics. I'm a freaking weirdo - I want to meet a lot of you people, but I want to meet all the cats too! Chinchillas are so cool. I had one for 24 hours. Long story, but basically I got it from a co-worker. Made so much noise at night, I had to find another home. Luckily, I had already worked something out with another co-worker who wanted him and he went right to her, and lived a long, happy life. Man, those suckers can BITE though. When I first picked him up at the guy's house, he chomped my finger and it bled like crazy.
mallochai Posted June 6, 2005 Posted June 6, 2005 He licks water off of my legs after I shower. lol, my puppy does that too! :cheerful he used to try to get into the shower to do it, but then he realized he didn't like being wet.
