Rev.Reverence Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 I think karma is finally catching up to him.. Yeah he's made some great movies but come on he was what, in his mid to late 40's.... THIRTEEN... The girl was exactly that a girl not a woman... Talk about pedophiles-r-us.... Woody Allen... That really is no surprise. NO Marmee.....he WAS in 40s...when this happened...in '77...NOW, he is like in his late 60s... ....hey, isn't there a statute of limitations, or some shit....
Homicidalheathen Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 all I know is his name sounds like a polish saucage
Oh_My_Goth Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 I just read the transcripts from the trial.. I definatly think what he did was wrong in many ways.. But I don't see her as completely innocent either.. And then there's her Mother What kind of mother would let her 13 year old daughter take off with some older man to take photos of her.. ALONE. The whole situation is a little messed up.
phee Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 I love Polanski, I love his films, but I will not confuse the Artist for the Art. I honestly don't know
TitsMcGee Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 NO Marmee.....he WAS in 40s...when this happened...in '77...NOW, he is like in his late 60s... ....hey, isn't there a statute of limitations, or some shit.... Statue of limitations only comes into play if the person hasn't been charged and convicted yet. Polanski had already agreed to the plea deal but skipped out on sentencing.
Homicidalheathen Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 to the tune of about 4 mil, he was released to a swiss chalet. http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/lanow/2009/12/roman-polanski-released-to-swiss-chalet-greeted-by-family-media-swarm.html
Simon Bar Sinister Posted December 4, 2009 Author Posted December 4, 2009 from what I've read previously, it's his chalet and he loses it if he runs.
Homicidalheathen Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 I think I could handle house arrest and a tether in a swiss chalet. bring on the swiss miss! whoo hoo just make sure she is of age. That Jack Nicholson has some hella parties.
Gaf The Horse With Tears Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 NO Marmee.....he WAS in 40s...when this happened...in '77...NOW, he is like in his late 60s... ....hey, isn't there a statute of limitations, or some shit.... Excuse me? No. There is no statute of limitations on rape. Nor is there on raping a minor. Or pedophillia.
TitsMcGee Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 (edited) Excuse me? No. There is no statute of limitations on rape. Nor is there on raping a minor. Or pedophillia. Actually there is a statute of limitations of rape in most states, I believe it's generally like 5 years. Edit to add: http://www.ndaa.org/pdf/sexual_assault_statutes.pdf The statute of limitations for by state, in Michigan it's 6 years. Edited December 4, 2009 by TitsMcGee
Simon Bar Sinister Posted July 12, 2010 Author Posted July 12, 2010 update: no extradition. http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/38201135
StormKnight (1) Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 He is just a Karma Houdini, isn't he? Nah, I would say karma vampire myself. Sucks all the good karma away.
phee Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 It's funny how people believe in karma when it happens....
torn asunder Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 It's funny how people believe in karma when it happens.... karma *always* happens...
DJ Nocker Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 I give him a big thumbs UP! Great film maker that practically got away with murder and STILL GOT AWARDED! people need to get over it, hell the victim even has gotten over it.
KatRN05 Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 people need to get over it, hell the victim even has gotten over it. You do have a point. I know I have said before that he fucking deserves to rot in hell for what he did, but shit, it happened over 30 years ago. The victim has moved on. Why waste more taxpayer's money?

Seriously though, the guy has been through enough, let it go.
KatRN05 Posted July 15, 2010 Posted July 15, 2010 Seriously though, the guy has been through enough, let it go. Forget him, the VICTIM has been through enough.
StormKnight (1) Posted July 15, 2010 Posted July 15, 2010 Forget him, the VICTIM has been through enough. I concur. Since the agreement the press has not to release a sexual assault victim's name was not in place at the time of the crime, her name gets pulled through the mud and opens up old wounds every time the thing is brought up. Considering she dropped the charges, I would think that she should sue CA for harassment or something to drop this. She won't get a moment's or rest until it is settled one way or another.
DJ Nocker Posted July 15, 2010 Posted July 15, 2010 Forget him, the VICTIM has been through enough. Yea ya know...polanski having had to go through the holocaust...as well as have his pregnant wife be killed by the manson family...not even close to as bad as unwanted sex... totally agree with you there. (sarcasm)

(sarcasm) Look what you did, you made me have to disagree with you. So you are saying we should just let it go cuz he had to go through the Holocaust and his wife was murdered? Those situations are not even RELEVANT to this case. Just because he went through some scary/shitty situations in his life does not excuse the fact that he drugged and raped an underage girl. Im answering in response to your sayin "the victim has suffered enough" post. In that Polanski has suffered a ton (more IMO) and he should be left alone too, its long over with (30 years). I never said what he did was right.

He's not suffering now and he sure as hell wasn't suffering when he raped that girl. And he sure as hell didn't suffer the 30 years he lived over in Europe avoiding his sentencing. I never said that you said what he did was right. I'm saying you are making excuses for him. Anyhow, I'm over it. I don't care how great his films are, he's still a rapist. Also, how do you know he wasnt suffering, that sex could have been terrible! lol (ok that was in poor taste)
