"In a written statement given to CNN, Fox News said its programming was comparable to the editorial page of a newspaper."

“An increasing number of viewers are relying on Fox News for both news and opinion,” Fox News Senior VP Michael Clemente said in the statement, “and the average news consumer can certainly distinguish between the A-section of the newspaper and the editorial page, which is what our programming represents.

“So with all due respect to anyone who might still be confused about the difference between news reporting and vibrant opinion, my suggestion would be to talk about the stories and the facts rather than the attack the messenger . . . which over time has never worked.”

Really? People can tell the difference? Then why is it that Fox articles are quoted as facts? Perhaps the name should be changed to Fox Opinions and Editorials.

If people can tell the difference, why do 35% find Fox a "trustworthy" sources of NEWS?

Is anyone actually surprised? I seen a movie documentary thing about a year ago that reminds me of this.

I watched only fox news for like a year. That way i wouldn't just be reinforcing my liberal opinions. All fox news did was reinforce my liberal opinions

I think that the 35% who find Fox trustworthy would accuse the VP who made the statements above of being a traitor and a liar.

now that they're out of the closet, I have no problems with them.

So how would you explain how Fox is number 1 in cable tv news ratings across All timeslots, and including the coveted 25-54yr old demographic ?

as i recall, at one point the majority of people believed the sun revolved around the earth. Doesn't mean they were correct

Calling fox a real News station is kind of like calling WWE wrestling a real sport.

If I watched a daily news program, I would have killed Meself by now.. & Yeah FOX is a bunch of half-skewed rubbish.

Fox News = Michael Moore IMO

While both might contain facts and knowledge, the information is so completely buried in the skewed in they method by which it is presented, that it is no longer useful in any constructive way.

That's like when the Chrysler designer that did the current 300C told me it was good design because the car was selling well. Um... No. They're two different things. People like a lot of things that are not good design. Likewise, a pile of people watching it doesn't mean it's news. I think a lot of the people watching it do so because it reinforces their beliefs.

There's a name Fox News has...another name...and it's real: Foxhole News. That's all it is. All it ever was. And all it ever will be. I can't even attempt to watch it anymore without wanting to projectile vomit because of the sheer amount of lies and contradictions they make on there. And regarding one Glenn Beck...this guy just needs to go.
