The DGN Calendar...Costs

I'm asking because I'm searching for a printer to do this. I would love your opinions on this. I'm not making one red cent off of any of this-it's strictly a labour of love on my part. I wouldn't even charge to send them. If any of you have any suggestions on how to bring the up-front costs down, I'd love to hear them. If I can find a place to do it for less, well you know I'll go there. I will not order a ton at first. The turn-around time is 48 hours from start to finish, which is quick in my book. And they would be sent right out. The people at the post office and I are likethis. I'm there all the time.

I also want to tell you all how excited I am to be a part of this. Those who have volunteered to take the shots as well as pose....well, you're a bunch of rock stars in my book. I sooooo can't wait to come up to do my shots with DarkenedCharm and meet you all. Call me nuts, but this is fun for me. Hopefully, it will be fun for you as well! This would be a great memory piece.....

Wow. I honestly wouldn't be willing to pay near that much...

There are a lot of ways to keep costs down. I made a post with a few suggestions on the thread in the Classifieds forum.

I think it would be feasible to bring the costs down to half as much, if not less. But it would require the talents of DGN'ers to help.

Also, to cut shipping costs down, you might want to consider going through a Detroit-based service bureau. If my suggestions in the other thread work, all that would have to be handed over is a CD with a PDF file.

I'm all over keeping the costs down, as I'm fronting the money to print them! I'll have to take a look at what you suggested. Would you be kind enough to give me the link? Thanks, FC!

Trust me, I don't want them to be even remotely expensive. If I can get the right paper and download a template and make them look professional, I'm all over doing it myself. I love projects.

That could end up being a good chunk of money. Why not take preorders or deposits to help get them printed?

Most definitely, Onyx. I would have to do it. But, I'm trying to find less expensive alternatives as well.

Be very careful. Lotsa people have not been able to come up with $5.00 for a CD. It happens like that all the time, sounds good in theory but somehow doesn't work out as planned.

Good news about the calendar!!!

I know that we've been bouncing about in here about the shots as well as cost. My sister's ex-husband is in the printing biz, and Is willing to help me with this! I'm reposting this in General, so don't freak if you see it more than once!
