kat (1) Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 I was reading the article posted and it looks like a couple other women are missing. I wonder if there's a connection.
Eevee Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 Yeah...I noticed the two other women too. It could be connected, though they haven't found their bodies yet. Its common for events like that to happen in Detroit, so I dunno... But that's really terrible what happened to that woman...
KatRN05 Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 I don't know, it doesn't make sense to me that the two guys in the article are being charged with body mutilation and evidence tampering but NOT charged with the woman's death. I think I read another article on clickondetroit that said the missing women were not connected in anyway but I'm not so sure.

I think I read another article on clickondetroit that said the missing women were not connected in anyway but I'm not so sure. They have to say "not connected" until they have evidence. And I believe evidentiary rules require them to investigate that way to eliminate bias until such time that evidence is substantial enough to prosecute them that way in court. That said, that might be part of the reason that murder has not been added to the charge at this time. Police might hope to prove a pattern of slayings and since they cannot charge the same people twice with the same murder, they may want to make sure, regardless of if they can link the murders, that they will get a conviction on that murder charge. Maybe they are hoping for new or additional evidence to come to light in the next few days.
