Maybe the proper people, equipment, and training would help prevent things like this from happening. When I fly in the US the security is tight but not as good as it should be...when I went to Europe it was even worse...they might as well have been sleeping on duty for all the good they were doing. Airport security in Europe blows unless the Pope, the Queen, or U2 is at the airport. Powders that go BOOM are not that hard to detect today...

And shouldn't someone have gotten suspicious when someone was fly TO Detroit?!?! Who in their right mind...

what could really help is if they would stop profiling and take a look at the facts. it took me twice as much time to get through security because i had to be patted down, my bag checked (like on the side dug through everything i had type shit) at wich point they wanted to know why i had so many glasses and where i was taking them, not to mention they pulled out my cell phone charger and accused me of replacing the prongs with razor blades. . .seriously? and those explosive sniffing dogs? i had one following me and apparently give the signal that i had something. i did actually, dog treats. . .come on now security thats just retarded

Yeah I am picking someone up at the airport flying back in from Tampa on one of the Delta/NWA flights too. She said there wasn't any more security than usual for her flight back here. So I am sure everyone is on high alert, but not taking it overboard.

thanks. I guess my brother's flight left at 10 am. I have not talked to him yet but he was flying to Georgia so I am sure he made it safely.
