:yes

That didn't help her case...

Those aren't trick quetsions. Hell, I could at least BS those two questions and just list off random papers and magazines, likewise for supreme court cases

It seems to Me that the majority of peoples opinions are based purely on the media.. Which is skewed.

Everyone is up in a tissy because the media wants them to be.. I don't care what fraking "party" is in charge, the media will always play one against the other.

Does anyone really know what's going on?? For real! I doubt it.

The media wants you to keep looking at the dancing monkeys throwing poop at each other and be entertained.. They want the public to have something bitch and moan about so they stay distracted and pacified so we never really know what is actually going on.

**This is just my opinion on the subject

{I generally don't even get involved in these conversations, but the title caught me eye :p }

...you said, "dancing monkeys throwing poop"... :rofl:

...again...unfounded assumption....have you not read me posts ever dude?

I am not in need of the 'REPUBLICRAT-AGENDA' that I have seen as a two-party-charade I have been watching them bicker-&-lie...& I'm supposed to TRUST THEM to LEAD...?

I see them all spin...I see many spinners, & a plenitude of parrots, & sheep, I see lots of sheep.

Often...it gets worse, before it gets better...history tells us.

Point taken; I apologize.

However, what other option do we have ? It has long been said that a 3rd party would only drain votes away from one of the 2 main parties.

& OMG, that assessment you made is spot on!

..that, is what 'THEY' say ;)

'THEY'...are in fact, 1 party, putting on a play...

.....I guess, I'll just have to wait for that second party{you can call it third, it'll be first someday.}

What is your opinion of the Tea Party movement ?

Republicans and Conservatives DO have better ideas.

The problem is that since the Democrats hold majority control of Congress, the Democrats choose not to Allow the Republicans into any conversations on bills.

Either that or, every idea that comes from Republicans gets shot down.

We don't hear about the majority of Republican ideas because the mainstream media outlets; like CBS,NBC,CNN,MSNBC, etc... are all in the tank for the Democrats and don't report on Anything the Republicans have to offer.

They only talk about the Republicans opposition to what the Democrats want to do.

Did anyone see how MSNBC covered Scott Brown's acceptance speech? They cut it off midway thru, and had anchors whining about how its the end of the world now that a Republican is in "Kennedy's" seat.

And yes, if it was the other way around, if Republicans were in majority control of Congress, the Democrats would be the ones being accused of said whining.

:rofl: x 1,000,000

are you kidding? we just spent TWENTY-EIGHT YEARS (1981-2009) enacting those "Conservative/Republican Ideas", and now we're stuck with the INEVITABLE RESULT. And you want to go back to those clowns and say, "pleasepleasepleaseplease fuck us some more?"

"better ideas", yeah, for rich folks and big business...

I will let H.P. Lovecraft speak for me here...

As for the Republicans — how can one regard seriously a frightened, greedy, nostalgic huddle of tradesmen and lucky idlers who shut their eyes to history and science, steel their emotions against decent human sympathy, cling to sordid and provincial ideals exalting sheer acquisitiveness and condoning artificial hardship for the non-materially-shrewd, dwell smugly and sentimentally in a distorted dream-cosmos of outmoded phrases and principles and attitudes based on the bygone agricultural-handicraft world, and revel in (consciously or unconsciously) mendacious assumptions (such as the notion that real liberty is synonymous with the single detail of unrestricted economic license or that a rational planning of resource-distribution would contravene some vague and mystical 'American heritage'…) utterly contrary to fact and without the slightest foundation in human experience? Intellectually, the Republican idea deserves the tolerance and respect one gives to the dead.

* Letter to C.L. Moore (August 1936), quoted in "H.P. Lovecraft, a Life" by S.T. Joshi, p. 574

As for the whole argument about people bitching about what the president does or doesn't do I don't see why this needs to be discussed. Really? Do we forget that quickly? This shit was already happening by the time of our second president! Its like saying that Republicans start wars or more wars than Democrats...its a 50/50 split. They all have ideas...can't say if they are good or bad...but in the end we all get the same medicine they just give it to us in a different way.

I wish I had a favorite author that had snippy descriptions for people that don't think the same way as me in the political sense...but I try to not group people into the same category when they don't fit there. I may not want the health care bill but I do wish to do something about our enegry sources and help with emissions. I would go on but I have to apply frosting to my Dad's birthday cake which is shaped like a bible and a pistol smashing Darwin over the head...

That would be true if it were not for the fact that Democrats did in fact do things in that time period.

Did you forget the budget went out of control when the Democrats took over both hourses of Congress in 2006?

Did you forget/not know/like to pretend otherwise that the Democrats caused the housing bubble and crash?

To agree with Cobert and Pomba.... yes Obama could save a bus load of children and kittens going off a cliff single handedly, and be paralyzed from the neck down for life for the incident, and still they would find an issue with him for doing it (or not doing it).

It kind of reminds me of little kids when they are in a cranky mood around dinner time:

"I don't want to eat that! I HATE that food!"

"Okay well you don't have to eat it I guess..."

"But I am huuuunnnnggggrrrryyyy and I want desert!"

"Well you need to eat dinner if you are going to get desert."

"Well make me something else for dinner then, or take me to McDonalds!"

"You want to go to McDonalds? Okay get your shoes on."

"Noooo! I don't want to have to go out and get food! you go get me McDonalds!"

etc...

Examples of this: Haiti... He gives them help and is criticized for being racially motivated to help them; but of course if he had NOT given them help, he would have been called an evil dictator (more then the right already calls him). Another example is his military decisions... he is criticized for doing too much and not enough at the same time and often by the same people.

This is true... I have no issue talking about what he has done badly IMO.... People who just agree with him by a gut reaction are just as bad as people who don't care what he does and will disagree with him by the same gut reaction.

Obama really screwed up his handling of cap and trade....

But I do like the help he has given Haiti at this point....

(remaining balanced is a good thing in this, setting out to destroy another person no matter what they do is not, I have heard people say that no matter what he does they have already made up their mind about him and it will never change, that sounds a bit like willful ignorance to me).

Three posts in a row by Phee that I actually agree with? What is this world coming to? Either hell has frozen over, pigs can fly, my fiance's politics are rubbing off on me, I'm not as conservative as I think, or Phee's not as liberal as he thinks.

Well Spook.... from what I know about you... you at least have to be a bit SOCIALLY LIBERAL... the conservatives would have your head if they new about your bondage culture and such :)

      I'm thinking I'm going to be moving to AZ, soon! Can't wait! I friggin' love it here! The heat doesn't bother me at all and the best part? NO SNOW!!! (S.N.O.W. - Shit  No One Wants)   Been staying in Bullhead City where the kids and grandkids live. Next, we're going to the wife's cousin's which is a ways North of Kingman, in the middle of nowhere, where we actually plan to move.   I really like Bullhead. It's a nice little town. Not overcrowded like Colorado Springs has become, at all. Very light traffic, reasonable prices on everything, low taxes, etc. The river offers a lot to do, with a lot of beaches and campgrounds all around it.   But yeah even though we've been over 110º-115º F just about every day,  I can handle it!  What I can't handle anymore, is snow and being cold. Just tired of it. Give me the desert over a blizzard any day!
