DJ Saint Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 http://www.annarbor.com/entertainment/heidelbergs-club-above-now-a-full-time-poker-venue/ What a horrible business move. Ann Arbor can certainly use every live venue it has. To replace a live music venue with POKER!!!? I don't see poker as being any more of a people draw than say bar with a consistant calendar of live music. Poker may be popular but when the new non-smoking law goes into effect, I doubt anybody is going to want to be a patron of this place and if you really want to play poker as a challenge you'd be better off at one of the casinos anyways. Wonder if they got the necessary gambling license needed to operate a poker establishment. Very surprised by this as Heidelberg seemed to have a good attendance for shows. A TWO year commitment to poker? I doubt it will last more than 3 months. Wonder how this affects the Plastic Passion nights? Sad :(
