terrible dreams

Ok, so I had night terrors when I was growing up very badly but have pretty much subsided with age. As the past couple months, almost a year now, I've been getting these very real, violent, freaky dreams that wake me up either screaming or crying. I've tried to figure out the cause to why I'm having them. I get enough sleep when I actually do sleep.. but adleast 3 times a week this happens.. I just always assumed that kids grow out of this sort of thing and never heard of people having them when their older. I had one last night that woke me in such a start that I woke him up thinking someone was killing me. Anyone have any advice or knows a bit more about this then me?

I've had strange dreams myself. One night I had this dream where I was running through this dark lit forest being chased by this beast who was high tailing after me. I ran for miles and miles wondering why I was being chased..as it turns out the beast in my dream transformed and manifested into a beautiful women, and while it happened the song 'Coma White' played in my dream..It really got me thinking am I running away from love or is love chasing after me? :erm

Another dream I had most recently had me searching high and low for something and it was apparent in my dream..somebody called for my help. I could not find this person, and it bothered me for days on end. Well I fell asleep again and the voice was louder this time..like somebody was in danger..I couldn't figure out for the life of me who or what it wanted. It ended up showing my elementary school I went too. It then showed me talking to former students and classmates of mine who were at their present age. I told them how I knew something wasn't right about the school itself. They didn't know what to think, soon as I walked away from them the voice came back this time from around the school, but I didn't make out what it said.. As soon as that happened I woke up.

Whats bothering me the most is why is this voice interfering with my dreams? I firmly believe this must be a sign of things to come..if not somebody needs me to help them..

I've really started to dread going to sleep because I don't want to dream about the shit I do dream about. I guess it'd be better if I said what I've been dreaming about. Not to sound like a nutcase, but most of them are "end of the world" type shit. The most vivid ones in my memory was when I dreamt I had went out to Windsor to meet with my family, but something happened and me and my husband ended up staying at some hotel with a view across the Detroit river and you could see the Detroit skyline so clearly.. I was getting ready for what seemed like bedtime and I went to open the curtains cuz I knew the moon would look so awesome. I opened the drapes and I seen these huge fireballs start slamming the city and I freaked out calling my husband over to see what I was looking at. I started to hear what sounded like sirens for an attack and I tripped out and started yelling "What the hell is going on?!" This soldier guy came up to me and I asked what was up and he started yelling "WATCH THE TAPE, WATCH THE TAPE!!!" Just as I went to go put in this video, I heard this sizzeling sound and I looked out the window and I seen one of those fireballs coming straight for us and thats when I screamed and woke up.

The one from last night is almost the same except I was unloading my parents bags for them cuz they had came to visit me. I was introducing them to his family and I heard this cat meowing.. I opened the door and seen this poor white kitten that had an extra leg growing out of its hind leg. I picked it up and thought it was to cute and went to show my mother in law but when I got to the stairs, it turned into burnt up remains. The the dream flipped around and in this house there was a fire going on and I was trying to get everyone out but something kept saying "You better hide" I looked out the window and my truck was even on fire and the front of my truck was melted looking - the headlights, the front bumper, everything looked like it was melted. It was so messed up. The ceilings where lowered, slanted really and looking like the house was going to fall in around us. I crawled out of the window and started walking down this heavily wooded area. I started to run cuz I felt like I was being followed and I found this old church that seemed to be a sactuary for what seemed like a cult of some sorts. They had on the hooded cloaks and where chanting things. I only remember that because I kept thinking "Oh my god.. I don't belong here and these people are going to find me and kill me" So I ran to this door that had old runes written all over it and I walked in and it took me right outside to the opposite side of the wooded path I took. It seemed like the "Dark" half of the woods. Kinda like good and evil almost. Then I heard footsteps and I started running for my life cuz I kept hearing "It's you...." "You have too...." "Listen.. " I kept hearing them get closer and I heard chains and howls. I get up to the top of the hill and look down and it was like staring death in the face. I seen so many people bloody, crawling and screaming and I freaked out and ran back to that church and threw that door and back to the house but it wasn't there. Everyone was gone. I went across the street and found my husband but it wasn't him, it looked like him but it didn't feel like him. He had told me that I better prepare. I grabbed his hand and then I heard this voice from behind us whisper in my ear "I'm going to kill you" and I tripped and thats when I woke up screaming and crying cuz when I heard that voice say I'm going to kill you, I felt wide awake but I knew I was still dreaming but it sounded like it was right in my face.

The other countless nightmares like this have more military and sometimes aliens involved.. Others have tornadoes and violent storms that I'm trying to hide from. Meanwhile, I'd be hiding somewhere but I end up watching my family getting taken away, killed, or torchered. I know it sounds stupid.. but I can't help what I dream.. I almost want to think its a sign that I'm meant to do some serious shit in the name of good, but their just dreams.. Adleast, it'd help me sleep better. I just can't get past the little things I hear and see in them is all. If there's some sort of meaning behind all these - God knows I'd like to know. They used to be so bad when I was a kid, I'd wake up the neighbors who lived behind us from screaming.

I had very similar dreams like this before in the past which I still do sometimes, but of course im gonna spare the details cuz I usually dont like talking about my dreams. But anyways heres something I've learned and this is your answer and everyone else's too. Nightmares are fears thats hidden deep within your memory and sleeping tends ta trigger those fears into image in your mind, thats all it really is. From whut I can tell is your afraid of loss of your love ones and afraid that somone might be after you and last but not least, you fear bad weather. Ones nightmares can reveal of whut your hidden fears are from the depth's of your mind, its like finding hidden files on your computer that ya never knew you had. All I can say is, the only way you can over-come your nightmares is if you reveal and over-come your hidden fears in reality, otherwise those nightmares are gonna remain.

Lol basicaly im the one to talk, im still in the process of trying ta over-come my hidden fears and I still have nightmares almost everynight. :blushing

Night terrors actually can happen in adults, but what you have sounds like an anxiety disorder.

Dreams are your subconscious's way of sorting through your day and your problems, and the images you see in your dreams are symbolic, not literal portrayals of your problems. So you have to kind of think about what parts of your dream really stuck out and think about what they might represent. It would be a good idea to keep a dream journal and write what you dreamt the night before as soon as you wake up (I know, who has time?).

I have had nightmares nightly for years and years. I can't even remember having a good dream, so I just sort of got used to it. Good luck!

My brother had horrible night terrors too, but he outgrew it. I don't know if it'd help you at all, but he used to have to awakened every 4 hours... not even totally awake, but so he'd open his eyes.. I donno.. good luck with this. *hug*

Well it happened again in another one of my dreams. Theres no logical explanation as to what this means. But this voice continues to haunt my dreams. If I had a dream book handy I'd look it up and find out the true meaning to it, so for now I'm left with the assumption that this so-called voice is begging for my assistance but I can't figure out what for that or I'm becoming schizophrenic.

now I don't know about ya'll but the captain here has dealt with quit a few thing of a supernatural disposition.

One particular spectre i live with is cruel and almost uncarring

ya see this ghost feeds from the emotional energy of the nightmares it couses

I remember my first night here when the ghost was most powerfull then it had my poor grandfather in a tearible state of decay in every sense of his existence.

As I tried to sleep I heard my grandfather begin to yell"help oh god, what do you want me to do.No ,ah no god jesus please please go help"as I heardthis in the dark with my eyes wide open I noticed a puondin noise comming from upstairs

As they appearent torture to grandpa picked up so did his screams of horror and so did the pounding noise upstairs pick up in intensity as well.

So I decided f@ck a ghost I got the power bit@h. I never new fear really

I got angry I started up the stairs but for some reason the light switch didn't work

"oh god clara ahhhhhhhhh,help sob me sob jesus.ahhh (stange cracking noise)"

I proceed up the steps in the dark the pounding is so loud it shakes the floor I feel broken glass crushing under my bare feet with every step

I'm like oh fuc@ing great now I gotta clean up all this blood. I feel it liquid and sticky warm all over stcking my p.j's to my ankles it kinda hurt but nothing new to me.

so right before i get to the top of the stairs I here what sounds like someone pouring a 55 gal drum of rats onto the tile floor lots of loud scrathcing and scurry en and then the lights come on without me touching the swich.everything stoped no noises no yelling an agonized screaching no rats no ghost for a pissed off follower of darkness to take vengence on.What surprised me the most is that there were no cuts or glass or blood at all. I didn't even suspect that the glass was not part of it didn't even enter my mind as a coincedence. when the light came on all sensation of wetness and pain from it simply didn't exist.

Oh well f@ck em if they can't take a joke.
