I had one, but took it out. Now, I want my stud back. Should I go for it?

Posted

This sounds like a Polls/quizzes thread!

Hmm, you have any pictures with it?

Posted

Actually, no. I loved it, though. And now, I miss having it. My temp job here is almost done, so I'm considering having it re-pierced.

In the same spot, or the opposite side, or what? I don't think trying to pierce through scar tissue is recommended, but I'm not really up on piercing info as much as other people here probably are

Mine was in the center.

Urgh. I tend to be a bit old-fashioned when it comes to piercings & tattoos.

There's so much beauty in the human body - sometimes adding a hole, a piece of hardware, or a permanent illustration is more of a jagged interruption than a flattering adornment.

Still, I like it sometimes. I'd say decide who you want it for - is it something you find yourself attractive with, does Wayne like it, etc. - and decide if you're better of with or without.

I loved having it. Wayne loved it as well. I'm just trying to decide if I feel like spending the $45.00 a-gain.....

Do it Brenda you'd look so hot with a labret piercing ;D

Once I get some money I want to get my piercings re-opened..

This is literally the only shot with the stud in it.

And thank you for the compliment, Brian!

I think you should. I would get one myself but at 40 it makes job interviews more difficult. Also, my freind said the one I wanted was 'ghetto?' What the hell does that mean??? I want to get one not in my lip but way up through my face above my gums like an inch above my lip. My freind said gang people do this. I have seen no gang members with this peircing. Anyone????

HH, I'm almost 40. I don't give a shit. If needed, I could put a clear spacer in it if I had a job interview. I still can't figure out why I removed it in the first place. As far as the one you're describing, I'm not sure which one that is, but I don't think it would be ghetto. You're one of those "fly by the seat of your pants" kind of people, just like me. Do it if it will make you happy!

I am thinking of going for it this summer. Just afraid the place I want it will crease deaper with age...once there is a hole there.

That plastic clear thing, can you see it at all and can you wear makeup like white powder with the peircing or clear spacer in?

I saw the pic of yours. That is the other place I thought about getting one. I love that! Makes me want to nibble lips. :devil

I don't know about the whole creasing thing. Are you talking about a Monroe, maybe? As far as the clear spacer, I really have to look hard to see it on a lot of people. And YES! You can wear makeup. Just try not to get makeup on it for the 1st six weeks. Mine looked like a labret, but was really a lip. It healed easier and didn't rub against my gums.

No offense but this friend sounds like a very imaginative person! :cool I've never heard a piercing described as "ghetto"... or gang-related for that matter. Altho anything's possible ov course. Anyway I agree w/Brenda- if you want it, go for it. The fact that we're 40+, to me, means we're entitled to do whatever we damn well please with our bodies while we still can!

^5, kichijoten!!

I think it looks cute on you from what I can tell in the picture.

My only thought is, what if you spend the money, and get another job that doesn't allow piercings, then you're out the money again =(

Posted

I didn't take it out for a job. I don't recall why I took it out. It was just something that happened. I'm not worried about the money. That doesn't bother me at all.

I'd say get it done.. piercings are hot!

Posted

Go for it! You looked really good with one from what I can see :cool

Brenda's cute with and without one. But, do whatever makes you happy, Brenda. I'd love to get a Monroe, but I don't know if I could get away with it at work. I already have a small stud in my nose and a tongue piercing, so I don't want to push it...

Posted

fuck it I'm not going to pay to have mine re-opened I'm going to get my own clamps and needles and do it myself.. The place that did my piercings in the first place wants to charge me 35 bucks per hole to re-do 'em and I'm not paying 175 bucks for it.

I believe the one that Brenda is talking about being "ghetto" is called a Labaret-Monroe (aka Madonna, Crawford.) Below is an illustration of the positioning of the piercing.

OMG! Ginny!

Yeah....

There is nothing "ghetto" about it. I think it's hot...
