I know a guy who discovered a Great Lakes shipwreck. Not that one, but he did put in the research and led the dive team to discover another one. He was my Advanced Open Water instructor.

There a many shipwrecks in the Great Lakes. A few of the more famous ones are the Edmund Fitzgerald, Carl D. Bradly, and Cederville. If you're truly interested, check out this page http://thunderbay.noaa.gov/

Yeah I live just south of Michigan City, Indiana.. At the Lighthouse Museum they have a map of all the "known" shipwrecks in Lake Michigan. Something over 1,000 wrecks and most of them are in the southern tip near Chicago and Michigan City..

Have you ever seen pictures of that wrecked car ferry, that was carrying a payload of brand-new 1929 Nashes?
