It's been 4 months since the last one...

PROGRESSION returns for it's third installment.

Friday, August 20

City Club DJ's Saint this time along with Elektrosonik present

PROGRESSION

– a night devoted to; exposing new music, previewing tracks that may very well be filling the dance floor quickly and playing current up-and-coming bands that will be the new lifeblood of the scene.

Not to worry, we realize a night of entirely all new material just wouldn’t work,

so we've ALSO invited

DJ Nocker (formerly of Dead-Line) to guest DJ

and provide his eclectic mix and wide musical knowledge of many genres.

There's been a TON of new releases recently, from the latest single by Combichrist "Never Surender" to the recent full length by Project Pitchfork "Continuum Ride".

There's also been a lot of over looked releases (for example the little known but exceptional Bleasure Grave) and more.

We're looking forward to exposing you to new sounds that maybe you didn't even know were out, but you could/should certainly be dancing too!

Tell the door girls "8410" for FREE ADMISSION before Midnight, or use one of the discounted admission flyers!

We hope to see you in attendance.

I will be there with Nicole. I'll probably end up "celebrating" my birthday (which is on the 22nd) that night, since I may not go in the 21st to City.

I look forward to a night of good music, dancing, and conversation.

Hopefully the weather will cool down a bit for us too. :X

And i guess I return to DGN for a bit :p

I cant describe how excited I am to be a part of this. thanks to Saint and Sonic for bringing me on board. I will do my best to hold true to the spirit of "Progression". I will be playing new or fairly obscure stuff. To the people who like to hear me spin, don't request batcave anthems, I wont play them for this night (I will play plenty at other events, trust me). Instead, ill play new bands that are living in those bands image. Blessure Grave is the spitting image of Joy Division. Death Rock did not die with Rozz Williams, try "Bloody Dead and Sexy" or "Christ vrs Warhol". and Cocteau Twins were not the only dreampop band! I hope this does not scare people away, new music is good music. Come out and support bands that are trying to entertain you even though you steal all the music through illegal downloads :p

See everyone there, this will be a great time.

LoL well I will for my first set, 2nd set I will probably break down and play more electronic stuff because I like both sides, but I will be sure to make ya proud :p

If I have any $$ to spend and my car taken care of by then I may just make it out to catch your set. Damn my hard luck.

I hope many will try to make it out for this night. Already have several fun tracks selected. Hope to see you there.

Just wondering...

from what he told me, he's hoping that A) he'll be on second at city, and B) he'll go first at Resist, so that he can do the Resist set, head home, and get prepped for city. if all goes as planned, he'll do an extended set at Resist (assuming he works it all out with the other dj's there) and be at City by midnight.

That, as of the last time I spoke to him about it, is how he'll pull it off.

I've heard some troubling news, if its true...I'm going to be very disappointed.

DJ Nocker will not be able to join us. Elektrosonik and I still hope to see many of you in attendance and we look forward to proceeding with the PROGRESSION night.

I hope people still go out and support this event.

So great to see nights celebrating new music. If you only listen to and love old music, you pretty much put the mental and metaphorical nails in the coffin of whatever you love. And that's sad.

Yay, the site is back up. For those that happen to read this, the number for free admission tonight is 000 (double-o zero). Or just zero, or any other form of zero that tickles the fancy. Hope you see you out tonight!

I'm coming back briefly from my hiatus to say...what?

What the hell is the code? 8410? Or 000?

Either code will work tonight.
