unfortunately his book tour is not coming to detroit, but you can pick up the new hardcover today! if you enjoyed Pattern Recognition (one of the finest novels i've read) then make sure you pick this one up!

Interesting. I read Neuromancer back in the day, and recommend it to people, but somehow i fell off the Gibson wagon. Not intentionally.

i think his newer work is some of the finest to date. it doesn't have the punch and arrogance of neuromancer, but gibson is aging like fine wine. i highly recommend Pattern Recognition, it's gibsons first novel that takes place in the present, and is filled with societal and policitcal insight.

also, there is a documentary out - No Maps For These Territories - about gibson, cyberpunk, the future of the human race and cybernetic evolution that is just amazing.

Well that works out, I need something new to read, and the last Gibson book I read was Pattern Recognition.

there is one inbetween, called Spook Country. i haven't started reading the new one yet, so i'm not sure how important it to the story line, but it probably wouldn't hurt.

i can also recommend The Strain - by Guillermo Del Toro and Chuck Hogan. i am SO not into vampires, but this book was fantastic.

Argh.

He's coming to Denver (to the wonderful Tattered Cover, no less), but during a time I have to be at work. And I have no benefit time left. :(

Ah, well.
