I read about this right after it happened. This article didn't say, and I can't remember the details from the original article as it's been a while, but if I recall, neither of the assailants had any firearms. All they had were screwdrivers, a baseball bat, rope, and gasoline. So, bad guys can be vicious with anything they find and the best way to stop them is with the best tool available and have a firearm of your own.
