I wish I had known. Such wretched people. They were supposed to be protesting the Laramie Project in Ann Arbor. I showed up to the counter-protest, but they were never there.

The absolute worst of America. I sometimes wonder if they are deliberately playing villains in order to expose the idiocy of mainstream homophobes.

It takes a very "special" type of person to make a website called "godhatesfags.com"

Yeah. Thanks, Westboro Baptist Church, for making all of us Christians look like asshats. Thanks.

Well you know what they say, folks. Don't let a few bad apples spoil the bunch. I have faith that the members of THAT church will be burning in Hell..

Douchebags of such asshatistic proportions

I don't think they will be able to get very close to the funeral.

So sick of hearing about these asshats. The only thing I want to hear about them is that their fucking church got destroyed by tornadoes, earthquakes, fire, and/or Godzilla. Then I'll be sure to attend their funeral with a sign that says "Westboro Baptist Despicable Church = 0; God = 1".

dude, they're all lawyers. they try to provoke a confrontation, then sue the living shit out of everyone else involved.

No word exists in the English language that can adequately convey what I think of WBC. To call them "asshats" and "douchebags" is an insult to asshats and douchebags everywhere.

I begin to wonder if the Phelps Cult is a cult based on playing with Poe's Law.

I'm kinda surprised no one has tried to burn their church down.

Those people need to jump off a fucking cliff. They are a waste of air, a waste of space, etc.

Unfortunately, the family is loaded with lawyers that seem to be of the mindset "sue first, ask questions later." Phelps himself is disbarred.

Do they really get enough from settlements to fund these things?

Though I do like what was done by the San Diego Comic-Con.

*snicker*

the Phelpses protested at Ronnie James Dio's memorial service; a Dio fan stood next to them with a sign that read, "GOD HATES THESE FAGS" with an arrow pointing at them.

If the Phelps' protested anything I was doing/had done, I would take it that I'm probably doing/did something right

Apparently they do. I'm waiting to see if the Supreme Court puts a stop to them. Sadly that won't be until next year though.

Found this in a blog just today and had to laugh. More people around the nation should make it more difficult or expensive for these particular parasites to operate:

I’ve heard through the grapevine that the church is mostly made up of lawyers. They plan these protests with the hopes that someone will do something to stop them so that they can take them to court and sue.

…..or so I hear.

I have an aunt in Oklahoma who says they protested the funeral of a 9 year old girl (can’t remember why). When they went back to their cars, all their tires were slashed and no one in town would help them. And if you know this town in OK, it’s not exactly close to other areas. VERY expensive tow ride.

Lets invite the Michigan Militia to a party with the WBC people and see what happens.
