Ugh I hate when people say thats what the little boy will turn into. If youve read any reviews on people who actually read the book the caretaker and the vampire have an agreement and the caretaker is a pedo. It's not at all the same relationship as "she" has with oscar. I haven't seen the remake and I'm not interested in seeing it because it will probably piss me off.

Umm, no offense, but why the hell would I read any reviews ON people who read the book.

Why would anyone critique book readers?

And why would I give a shit about them anyway?

BTW, everyone I have shown the movie to has loved it, said its better than the original, so =P =P =P

I don't even have to see if experience is an indicator. I have not seen a single remake that is as good or better then the original (barring the actual cinematography).

Now considering what a turd the original was I'm afraid to see the remake.

Why? I spit on your grave is the second worse movie I can remember so If I see the remake then I'll end up watching something as bad or worse than Dracula 3K.

First off, I dont believe yo about the remake statement, unless you are a die hard fan of really old movies. Because "The Thing" and "The Fly" were better than the originals in almost every way. And thats just a couple.

As per your opinion on the original ISOYG, you arent alone in thinking it sucks, although chances are that you are like eternal and just dont like alot of the older grindhouse stuff, which is fine, to each there own.

Are you talking about "The Thing from Another World" 1951 that supposedly "The Thing" 1982 was a remake of? It wasn't a remake It was a readaption of the novel "Who Goes There?" and both versions have their merits.

As for The Fly 1958 vs. 1986, I sought out a copy of "The Fly" 1958 and "Return of the Fly" 1959.

It never occurred to me to get a copy of 86. The mutinogenic concept was an interesting take but it cant compare to the 1 2 punch of a split.

I like a lot of Pink Cinema witch can be just as gratuitous as Grind House, but GH comes of as being written by perma hard on 14 year olds with a weak grasp at character and plot development where as PC comes off as being written by horny 30 year olds who do understand development.

According to Mr. Carpenter, its a remake of the film, as well as inspired by the novel. And the novel was inspiration for the original 51 film... though you are right, all version have there merit. As for the Fly, agree to disagree I guess, I like Cronenburg's more.

I cant get into a lot of Pink stuff, mostly because I dislike most Asian cinema. But I diagree on your statement about Grindhouse almost entirely. Cant say about Pink stuff as I havent seen enough to give a proper opinion.

      About to head up to Roseville to return this rental and pick up my truck from the auto shop.  It is supposedly sporting a newly fabricated frame rail...I don't think they are referred to as "chassis" anymore as I see the confusion in shop owner's eyes when they ask me if I'm looking for "body work?".   But I do find it interesting that I told the owner that I worked direct with OEM parts and yet he still wrote me up an invoice with overpriced OEM parts from companies I used to host at the place I used to work for.  With that said, I'm expecting a stellar job for the amount I paid.   ...else, there will be some talk negotiations.

      ~~~~~ Definitely wishing you luck.  Do enjoy yourselves.   But I have to admit, the first thing that came to mind was does roadside assistance reach the desert? 😬
      ~~~~~ Yeah, it's like something happened to my metabolism this past Winter and when I came out of hibernation, that AARP Join Request started looking like something to check into.

      This 👆 definitely goes with what I said in my other post - getting old sucks. Seems like *everything* takes longer and takes more energy out of me than it used to. Really need to work on my diet and exercise, I've found the older I get, the more important those things have really become...
