Being witty I would say I don't have glasses I just have cups. So I have have the liquid anyway. At the same time I've always said the glass was half empty.

Were did the glasses come from? Who filled them? Does this lack of knowledge imply supernatural origins? Is it BJ time yet??

On a more prosaic note:

Its a personal value judgement , one one I think that we can derive from nature. We personally decide if its half full or half empty. I wish there was an "objective" way to to describe it, but I think its more of a normative claim.
