I was only there on Monday working security, but Pest was there on Saturday and Monday. It occurred to me that a decent amount of DGNers went, I even saw a few. Did you go? Who did you see? Wtf happened?

I was stationed on an 11 hour shift standing at the gate where Peking House is at Washington and Second St. I was a bit miffed, because this assured I would be on the COMPLETELY opposite side from George Clinton and the Parliament of Funk. I was super depressoed, because I initially didn't want to work Monday and thought, "well, maybe I'll be stationed within at least earshot..." Nope. BUT, I was entitled to two fifteen minute breaks and a lunch break, so while most of my coworkers whittled theirs down throughout the day...I had foresight to know what I was using my last fifteen for: THA FUCKIN P FUNK :peanutbutterjellytime:

So at 9:10 exactly I left my post and I RAN. I didn't even run...I parkoured, off benches and walls, jumping around people, going as fast as my legs could take me down Main Street. I definitely broke my old Main Street Drunk Dash records from high school . I got there for nine glorious minutes of the P-Funk, and got my groove on like it was July 1st, 1979, the day the funk died.

When I ran back to my shift, I added up how long it took me to get there and back, AND I RAN A MILE IN FOUR-FIVE MINUTES. WTF. Talk about having ability under duress. WINNING...made it for this magical number:

AND...George Clinton and the P-Funk covered Lil' Jon "Get Low"   Did it better than Lil' Jon! Never thought I would hear George Clinton sing, "Skeet skeet skeet" in my life .

I saw Scary Guy, he came through my gate, Killyosaur left through the gate I was stationed at and we had an awesome twenty minuteish convo about a slew of shit. I heard Osaka was there from Pestilence, but I did not see her :crybaby:. Constantin and Lucifer found me in the crowd, because if Pestilence and I are in the same crowd unknowingly, we gravitate toward each other each and every time. Constantin also told me he ran into Zachariah, but I also didn't see him :crybaby:.

I was handed a gigantic bag of cotton candy. I also accidentally made a lewd remark to a nice looking black guy, because he came through like he was at the airport, and asked, "So do I have to be frisked or something?" and I accidentally said, "No, but I'd sure like to..." :X My boss thought it was funny though, so did the guy, so crisis averted. I haven't worked with the public in quite sometime, and I need to retrain myself in areas of self control .

Made an awesome Inception joke, because a lady came through, I checked her purse...and inside of it was another purse. She was like "Weird, right? It's a purse, within a purse! What would you even call that?" and I immediately blurted out, "A purse within a purse? Clearly that's purseption..." she fucking lulzed hard and did the Leo strut away, fucking hilarious.

Who else went? Did anyone go for the tornado on Saturday? Royal Oak is still WRECKED.

We were supposed to go yesterday, but didn't, because we had a bunch of stuff to get done. :fear:

I was there Saturday, the friend I went with on Monday wanted to catch Saving Abel but they bailed due to the storm so we spent the time hiding under the overhangs of the various food-mobiles. I saw Pestilence at the the International Stage but wasn't certain it was him (Chernobyl confirmed for me on Monday that it was indeed him, so, sorry I didn't say "hi"). Was fun chatting on Monday, with all the people that were there and as large as the venue was, I didn't actually expect to catch Chernobyl at the place.

are you absolutely sure you used to hang out in Royal Oak? Why didn't you just run down the railroad tracks?

Was there Saturday and Sunday helping out friends bands, and went Sunday specifically to see The Orbitsuns and then again Monday specifically to see The Psychedelic Furs and George Clinton! Sampled some tasty treats from Bahama Breeze and Melting Pot, and saw a ton of friends and music family :) Good times!

Because I don't like a felony on my record running through a crowd full of thousands on the railroad tracks while I'm clocked in for work...?

I know the feeling! So get this, when I was stuck in ABQ I decided to re-activate my phone. Now, for years I have been running a Straight Talk Mobile Hotspot for wifi instead of paying for actual phone service, because I get more data for 50 bucks on the wifi plan than I would get for the same price for my phone plan, and I don't call anybody very often if ever, so it only made sense. Well while I was in ABQ I got desperate and decided I needed to make some phone calls so I walked down to Walmart to get a  45 dollar plan for my phone, only to realize that I had to walk back to walmart again (4 miles one way) to get a new Sim card, because the one I had was too old, apparently...  Anyway, literally the second I reactivate my phone - I got a phone call from a frickin' debt collector!  I mean it was so instantaneous that I assimed it was Straight Talk calling to confirm my activation or something - instead it was somebody with a foreign accent that I could barely understand, asking for whoever the person was that previously had the phone number I had just been assigned. . . I was so irritated with this fact.    And yeah now I'm getting multiple calls, daily, from everybody and their brother, looking for whoever the person was that used to have this number.  Wells Fargo, AT&T, etc etc.    I think there needs to be some better way of doing this. Recycling phone numbers as fast as we do this day & age isn't working out very well. 🤷

I have no idea why I'm even on all of these call lists that are on Robo-Dial by A.I.  One is a female voice and the other is a male voice and all they did was change the name that they give you.  I did get put through to a few live people to try to ask them to remove me from their list, but they, the telemarketer, hung up on me.   It's like I'm living "Telemarketers Revenge" for all the years of people handing up on them.   I always spoke with the telemarketer and then wished them a good day before hanging up.  And this is what I get for all of my decades of kindness.  I don't think I deserve this, but the World has lost a lot of the niceties that it used to have when I was growing up.  And no...COVID did not cause this.  I'm also getting tired of that excuse.  Its been 6 years!  People felt they were given the Green Light to be anti-social and rude to your face and now it is part of society just like everything else Mainstream adopts and considers it a cultural add-on.   I just hope I can survive this onslaught of calls blowing up my phone until it dies down.  Else, I will place a block on my number and only allow calls from family, friends and medical associated with my job.

This is crazy.   I had to mute my phone because I am getting 50+ calls a day regarding Life Insurance, Medical Insurance, Burial Benefits, a Senior Food Expense Card, a Senior Social Security monthly reimbursement benefit, etc., and I don't qualify for any of it.  I don't even meet the age requirement.   At current, I have 53 missed calls and 38 of them were from yesterday.
