minor question: what category would a movie fall under if you've only seen small portions of it, but not its entirety. Still count as a newbie?

I would say if you have seen less than 75% of the movie then you can count it as A FTV.

Good, I have at least 10 of those...but I shant have to resort to any of them. For me, finding 31 horror movies that I have NOT seen is like...(open to peer input)

Since I began late, was too tired after coming home last night, I'm going in with guns blazing and just started up MARTYRS .

Forgot it was French, so as much as I love subtitles, this one's going to be a little grating on the ears to listen to . French sounds terrible, turns me right off .

Wasn't too fond of the Haunting in Connecticut I take it? Haven't heard many good things about that one to begin with. My first three were thoroughly enjoyable.

Yes, but your leap in context without proper transition made me go : "huh?" Frankly, I would like to believe it is my duty to play on the contextual errs of another.

So did you like Santa Sangre? I found it to be a bit over hyped, although I did love the piano scenes, those were amazing.

I like trippy-horror, in general. Santa Sangre was no exception. I believe I saw the mummy scene in some random youtube clip, prior. The film's thread of constructed (un)reality is something I feel I can appreciate in a strange manner of empathy. Perhaps I see something akin in tales where memory is so far entrenched in obscure images, it forms an entirely different world around itself. One that no other may see in the same alluring manner of its host, but still feel its effects as it asserts itself.

people often go for that, you should save your reviews till the end! unless you watch something that everyone should see...I wont spoil anything but I think "La Horde" will be my favorite first time view this month, it was AWESOME.

CHEESY I know, but I just randomly had it pop in my head when I was trying to decide on a movie. Either Dolls or Child's Play was the first "scary" movie I saw (and I'm almost 100% sure it was Dolls, when I was 6-7), and it scared the shit out of me when I was little. It was still cute to rewatch, and I'm one of those super nostalgic people, even though it didn't have the same terrifying effect on me that it did when I first saw it in 1991. It also, for some reason, REALLY reminds me of my favorite NES game, Maniac Mansion.

Just watched a good documentary that is free on hulu called "Nightmares in Red, White and Blue: The Evolution of the American Horror Film". Its very good, very similar to another horror documentary that I own called "The American Nightmare". Both are worth checking out for first time views

Yeah just noticed that, so documentaries about horror movies count for the challenge? Just checking on the rules regarding this (as there is a documentary about Troll 2 out there that might actually be worth checking out, not certain about that, as I haven't yet).

I will be bringing a couple horror movies to mars bar tonight for industrial wednesdays, hope to see you there.

I plan to watch just about every film that was made during my year of birth (1982). Next on the agenda is Q...hopefully I can obtain a copy of a rather controversial title by mid-month

P.s. noticing a pattern with some of my selections thusfar...Iris knows how to pick the ones dealing with oversheltering mothers and odd mental dilemma (should I be concerned)

There's nothing disturbing about me eating chicken with no pants on, watching Antichrist, at all...

So far it's a decent yet depressing movie, but I'm only halfway through.
