phee Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 In my opinion, the Golden Age Of Future Pop hit in the late 1990's early 2000's, and like all musical Golden Ages only got it's true tag when it was ending. This age culminated with a lot of bands, most of which were doing what would be called "Future Pop" well before and continued well after this period. Including Beborn Beton, Melotron, Evil's Toy/T.O.Y., Icon Of Coil, Neurotic Fish, etc... But to me the bands that brought it the most light and attention, that made the period truly something of memory and nostalgia for ME... Were Covenant, Apoptygma Berzerk, and VNV nation... Specifically a group of albums by these bands... For Covenant it was "United States of Mind" and "Northern Light"... For Apop it was "7" and "Welcome To Earth"... and VNV it was "Empires." Perhaps it was just the period of my life that made it so needed and loved in those moments, or maybe it is when that subgenre just hit it's musical stride, I am not sure. But it is definitively memorable to me. Anywho, just felt like starting a thread about it.
phee Posted October 6, 2011 Author Posted October 6, 2011 I hate 95% of all future pop -_- A lot of what is being cranked out today I am really not a fan of.
