I created an account in 2008, but lost track of it between now and then, so I thought I would, as the descriptor of the Forum states, (re)introduce myself:

Current location? Hyperborea has landed me somewhere iN Shelby Township.

Where from? Planet Earth, United States, Southern.

Gender? Human.

Work? Former professor, barista, short-order cook, bouncer, PreK teacher, Not PreK teacher, professor, construction manager, welder, attorney, and now stay-at-home father.

School? I have adoctorate in history from UVA -- a BA from VMI.

Kids? Two of them. Want one/ For sale che-e-eap.

Married? Indeed.

Single? I prefer my pints in pairs, thank you.

Hobbies? Higher mathematics of the mind. Tossing snowballs at the Dalai Lama. Rousing conversations. figuring out where lines are drawn and crossing them.

Incredibly intelligent, but horribly grounded. Mistrustful of water, but seemingly otherwise fearless. Father of two fine strapping tree-trunk specimens of a Celtic Warrior In Training. Partner to a physician whose patients actually get better and often survive. Doctorate-holding, non-alcohol-drinking, cigar-smoking, slightly rough around the edges, all around decent fellow with no discernible psychoses nor neuroses -- a genuine Stoic rabble-rousin' philosophizer with a penchant for the arcane and obtuse and with a guaranteed manner of bringing high-brow intellectualism to the plane of down-home distilled wisdom.
