Is there a person in your life that you have always looked up to? Or maybe as a kid?

Did you have a mentor?

A teacher? Social Worker?

Anything, certain quotes that grab you, stories that amaze you, people that blow your mind in general?

I believe that there is a reason for everything...Unfortunately, most of us fear what nature is trying to show us and/ or tell us

Or, we deny it.

Anyhow...

I can tell you that there are people that blow my mind in general and not to sound funny, but it's people who read.

My mother used to read a novel in 3 hours.

My older sister would go through an entire series in like a week.

Now my niece is an upcoming bookworm, knocking out books left and right.

Several different teachers over the years , and of course Carl Sagan.

(more recently Richard Dawkins , Sam Harris and the recently passed away Christopher Hitchens)

I never really thought about it that way but every last one was a reader.

I had a mentor, she was a social worker I was in this group therapy thing when I was a teenager. She is probably the reason I am not a strung out crack whore on Vernor Highway. (Sorry so harsh, it is the truth)

We're friends now, we bullshit, she tells me about her life like you would your best friend.

I absolutely love this woman.

i had a fwe "heroes" i looked up to as a kid - i learned really quickly that people are fallable, and just as human as the rest of us. now i can appreciate particulars about someone's life, but i never idolize anyone anymore, because they're no better/worse than i am.
