Patty Duke Dead at 69

"our" crowd will probably remember her (if at all) as one of the drug addled women in  Valley of the Dolls. 

 

But she plays hellen keller in the must-see  The Miracle Worker as a child actor.  (honestly, that's like top films of all time type stuff)

and... since well , as far as I know none of us knew her personally.... if you haven't seen that movie, see it.  Its really good.   (the point there being I try not to turn people into angels that I have no clue about, but I did enjoy some of her work)

Did you know that she is Sean Astin's Mother? (Samwise Gamgee & Mikey from The Goonies). She was married to John Astin (The Original Gomez Addams) from 72 to 85.

I had no clue.
