               Darkly Descending Wings

 

 Is this again start of the black unending night?

Or pray, a tiny whisper-

A tiny whisper of the longed-for restful light? 

Wanting not,  to 'go gently into that good night'

 Instead 'Rage, rage against the dying of the Light!' 

 Hush now! A tiny whisper-

A tiny whisper beckons sleep, on darkly descending wings.
