Fierce Critter Posted July 13, 2005 Posted July 13, 2005 Best of the Moody Blues - Nights in White Satin
Fierce Critter Posted July 13, 2005 Posted July 13, 2005 love that Fierce Critter <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Jon has very good taste in music. Even the stuff he listens to that I personally don't like is technically good music. We appear to be listening to a few cuts from this album. Just finished "I Need You" and are beginning "Ventura Highway". You know, I used to think they were singing "venture a highway..." Ah. Guess he didn't feel like listening to the whole song. We're on to "Gary" or something like that... Listening to music with Jon controlling the CD player is a bit like listening to a jukebox with a horrible skipping problem. :grin
float Posted July 13, 2005 Posted July 13, 2005 tell him..... "I understand you been runnin from the man who goes by the name of the sandman"
Fierce Critter Posted July 13, 2005 Posted July 13, 2005 Did so. He doesn't recognize that one off the bat... Jon has the savant power of almost instantly memorizing the lyrics of any song he hears. But not just the lyrics - he also memorizes the musical parts as well. It's hard to explain. Anyway, Jon also relistens over and over and over again to the SAME songs off his CD's. So he never plays that one. I have only heard probably half of the CD's he owns. He listens to his favorites, and the rest are never played. I love that man beyond explanation. But that particular habit makes me get sick of his music SO quickly. I sometimes save my sanity by listening to his CD's when he's out - but I play the ENTIRE CD. Hmmm... what bit of musicality is next...
Fierce Critter Posted July 13, 2005 Posted July 13, 2005 Oasis. The "Morning Glory" album. So I can anticipate we'll be listening to about half of "Don't Look Back In Anger" and probably the entirety of "Wonderwall" and "Champagne Supernova". ....OOOH!! Wait wait! Jon also has the cute habit of having to plug in a mic to an amp when he's listening & singing along to CD's. He has a great announcer's voice, and sometimes calls out Bingo numbers between songs. This time, he's thanking people for attending the 5th annual Rockin' Barbecue Fest in Raleigh, North Carolina. My favorite is when he announces that Journey is about to start playing at the bandshell at the State Fair, with lead singer Steve Perry... or Steve Otjeri... or Steve Barry... or...
