Salute to America -- Greenfield Village

July 3-6th (Wed thro Sat)

Gates open at 6pm, and DSO starts at 830pm

Location is at the Walnut Grove in Greenfield Village

Tickets

GA: Members -- $27.75    Non-Members -- $32

Youth (5-11): Members -- $20.50       Non-Members -- $24

Because I have a membership, when you purchase your tickets (can be done easier there at the ticket counter in the Museum lobby), there will be a discount. I would like to 1. go there after work and spend even just an hour in the village. 2. If that doesn't happen, I do plan on bringing snacks/drinks (non alcoholic as bags are searched) and a chair.

Important to Know

1. This is outside, rain or shine. Dress for the weather/comfort. Bring rain gear/warm jacket just in case.

2. Walnut Grove is about a half mile from the main gates of the Village. Wheelchairs can be rented (in advance), or personal can be used. (313-982-6001 is the number to call for reservations)

3. Wagons can be used. I plan on bringing mine so I'm not carrying a cooler, snack bag, chair, and maybe an umbrella.

4. Photography/Video can be taken.

I plan on going on the 6th (Saturday) because I don't work the next day (if my work schedule stays the same for the next few weeks).

Going before the Village/Museum closes at 5pm is iffy since I get off around 3 and even if I took my stuff with me, it'd be close to 4pm by the time I get there. So, I might take the time between getting off work and gates opening to get all the items (cooler, snacks/drinks, jacket, etc) together.

Bumping this to see if there's any sort of interest to go as a group or not.

I am interested but time & money =  :(      The "time" issue is mostly due to my health and all the dang "every day life things" i have to get done before I run out of "awake and alive time" .    Its improving a little but is glacially slow.  :(

I'm thinking I'm going to be moving to AZ, soon! Can't wait! I friggin' love it here! The heat doesn't bother me at all and the best part? NO SNOW!!! (S.N.O.W. - Shit  No One Wants)   Been staying in Bullhead City where the kids and grandkids live. Next, we're going to the wife's cousin's which is a ways North of Kingman, in the middle of nowhere, where we actually plan to move.   I really like Bullhead. It's a nice little town. Not overcrowded like Colorado Springs has become, at all. Very light traffic, reasonable prices on everything, low taxes, etc. The river offers a lot to do, with a lot of beaches and campgrounds all around it.   But yeah even though we've been over 110º-115º F just about every day,  I can handle it!  What I can't handle anymore, is snow and being cold. Just tired of it. Give me the desert over a blizzard any day!
