Religion. Who needs it???

I saw a post similar to this on another site. And I was wonderin', who needs religion. One thing that bums me out is that the money collectures in the churches are supposed to be for the poor and needy, but all they do is remodelate their pretty little church house. Dont confuse me, I'm not a satanist, i think its stupid (no offense to those who are) I'm more of a spiritual person, ya' know, like, I dont just hook my self on one thing, on one god, I believe in others and since I'm tied to no religion I've got more freedom.

So.... just tell me what you think?

in the church i grew up in, there were two funds - one for "general", meaning social causes, etc., and a "building" fund, specifically for growing the church. honestly, if i were still into the church thing, i'd rather sit on a rcok in the rain and have the money go to something worthwhile, than the building...

if all the churches had a double found like that then I wouldnt feel so dissappointed. I've heard also of many popes that buy expensive cars and big houses (No kidding) with the money from the founds

i think war needs religion i know some will read an reply bonehead but more people have die or been erased from the world over or in the cause of religion no rip on any follower beliver or god i myself deliverd in to this world a pk so i undersand well be seen not heard in sort i dont think an have got the real message right

I guess it depends on the person if you need religion. But the religions that make money off of people are sick the church specifically has made tons of money off people.And what with all these seminars about learning witchcraft and you get a nifty certificate saying your such and such degree witch now I think it takes the honor and respect out of things and it take a lot more than a couple test to learn something you can spend your whole life learning a subject and never truly learn all of it . Religion should be free you don't need to go into a church and pay to have the privilege to belong to it to belive in something. I have to point out a lot of people that are religious are not very spiritual people ether I think this is sort of stupid considering you suppose to be enlightened spiritually some way by religion some people just follow things blindly like sheep and don't care I guess. So no not everyone needs religion I think the people who are not spiritual about it shouldn't be religious why follow something if your heart isn't in it?

Religion has both good and bad aspects, all stemming from the fact that it is above and beyond this life on earth. That belief can lead people give up their lives for heroic purposes, but can also inspire acts of extreme maleficence in the same way. It can offer hope to the hopeless, but can also add crushing guilt and suffering to those who wouldn't otherwise have it.

Which is why I still haven't worked out the perfect religion to convert the world to.
