Okay, listen: I went to Wonderland Tattoos, this Saturday, to have my tongue pierced but it turns out that what you've all been suspecting is true and I am, in fact, a mutant. -They couldn't do it because I have been gifted with a mouth like only 5% of the population has-I have a vein in the center of my tongue (joy!)! ...Talking to a homegirl, earlier this week, I learned that someone could still have it pierced if they have a wonderful tongue like mine but they have to do it a bit off center (she has a "wonder-tongue", too)...well, the guy at Wonderland didn't mention that so he's either inexperienced or rich, the way I figure-and fearing the former, I feel I should continue my pursuit of a studded void in my face, elsewhere. I need to talk to more piercing specialists; can you give me a recommendation?

Told ya. I don't know of any places in MI (duh). However, I love Ian and Jamie here in B-more at Harm City. That is, if you wanted to get anything pierced here.

I know. I'm not very helpful.

You are "homegirl", by the way...

Oh! Right on!

You've heard about my wonder tongue, eh?

You told me! How quickly we forget...

But, I never elaborated. Just suffice it to say that I was able to get mine pierced. You should be able to. I wish I had mine back, though.

There is a place at 10 ml and Gratiot. I have seen their work and it always looks good.

Ok. What size do you want it pierced at?

I also have, what is it you call it, oh yes, a wonder tongue. (can you tell i like commas today?)

If you want it pierced standard at a 12 guage go to eternal tattoos in livonia on plymouth. tell them you don't mind it off center.

If you want a 10 guage to start (highly recommended) go to Royal Oak Tattoo.

If you don't mind who does it as long as it is clean, sterile and not dangerous, I have a friend who will do it for you. I trust him fully but I still went to Royal oak and Eternal.

I started with a 12 and let it close up because it was uncomfortable. They said it could be due to the vein. Nerve endings being irritated around it.

I then went straight to a 10. Had no problem, streteched it to an 8 and was a happy kitten. :cat:

I will try a gauge 10 first then, if you also have a marvel tonuge and you're reccomending that size for others who have our special gift. I believe I'll try Royal Oak Tattoo. ...hopefully I'll soon be a "happy kitten", too.

-And thanks for all your commas.

Do you think that the 5% are all on DGN?

so far, there are 3 of us.

Honestly, from what I understand, you are in NO WAY supposed to pierce straight up and down, as EVERYONE supposedly has this vein. I would ask several piercers before you get it done, just to be sure. You absolutely CANNOT pierce through the vein. It causes hemhoraging.

Posted

Everyone has the vein I'm told but normally it runs crooked down their tongue. When they go to pierce your tongue it moves/rolls outta the way when they clamp it.

I never heard that one, but I'm sure it's true. I mean, it's a vein-it's not cemented there. I've just never heard of what Paul said. I had mine pierced 3 times, and no one has told me this. I'll have to ask my new piercer when I take Wayne to get his nipple done.
