Lasting friendships made on DGN

Have any of you made a true, lasting friendship via DGN?

I mean, not just someone you hooked up with, or hang out with at City or parties...someone you can count on, that you have invited into your life/home?

I can name a few....some I already knew but because of this board I became closer with or re-established a friendship with.

Dave....heh and now Sharlene.

Lilith.....and lestat.

Mark....Mster Beau

Slinger....

Phee....

Rai-linga, although more out of here than in here.

fistlovr....you know who you are M'lady.

And I am sure I will be adding to the list.....as time goes on.

I have yet to meet some of you in person! I think some of the one's I have yet to meet will be hanging out with me eventually.....

And unfortunatly I have lost touch with a couple people I invited to the board....they don't seem to be online much at all these days....oh well. Because it seems to get people to open up more, I think this board is a good way to get to know people.

I am a member of allot of groups where politics just plays to much a part.....especially some yahoo pagan groups.

I have not been able to talk about my allot of my issues anywhere else.

I consider Jason (headlessgoth) to be one of my closest DGN friends.

There are definitely some others of you that I feel that, given the time, we will become close friends. Some of you are DirtyWhispers, HH, MsterBeau.

And of course, I care about so many of you, even if I only really see you at the club. You all are such wonderful people.

I really am supremely lucky that I fell in with such a wonderful group as DGN. There is noone here who ever made me feel unwelcome. Ever since I've joined, everyone has been unbelievably nice, and accepted me into their circle.

i don't know too many people here in person or i have only met them briefly.

so for the "in real life" part of who i know here i'd say:

marblez- we've hung out here and there and will more in the future. she's one cool, super sweet chica and i am glad to know her.

game of chance- i have known in real life for 9 years so he was my friend first and i brought him here. i have a special kind of love for steve that i feel for people who are not REALLY family but might as well be.

troy- i have only seen him a handful of times in 3 years but i can say that troy is my friend and i care about him and his well-being and always will.

black sunday- we have chatted more online than in person but i think we have become pretty good friends that way over this past year. talking to him has helped me through some tough spots and i appreciate that more than he knows.

there are people like phee, brenda, paper hearts, paradox, manic queen, dollar dave, daevion, soothsayer, angelbeast, capuchin, damaged angel, daniel, head wreck, the dark, zenji - where ever he may be , critter, fallennon, gothicmom, MsMaldoror, kellygrrrl, torn asunder, meg, jarod, kichijoten, lilith, lulu, nienna, Msterbeau, onyx, ginerva, reaper, rozzlyn, vater, shade, somedanguy, tomcat, the void, piggy, holliwood.... ok i can't name you all but i did a good job naming people who i consider friends, someone i would like to know better, someone who has offered me something from knowing them at least here, someone who makes me think, someone who has given me a different point of view.

I have become particularly close to two people here: Paul and Lael (DarkenedCharm). I speak to both these wonderful guys every day, and at least once a week on the phone.

If I lived in Detroit, I'm quite sure that I would be bugging many of you to come over for lunch or go walking or whatever. I just think of most of you as family.

I've made one very good friend on DGN for sure... He's got one of the most beautiful souls I've ever met. That said, the rest of you guys rock too! In all seriousness a majority of my friends in this city are from DGN...

I'd say Daevion, Marblez, and ManicQueen as I have hung out with them all. Its been a long time and I have always enjoyed being around them. There are more arising to the occasion but most are new and in construction lol. Wish I could hang out more with Troy and Greg. They are always cool. Just never had the commitment to getting out that way.

well, on a true test basis, meaning someone I've known more than a year and talked to for more than a month at a time...

I met Disenchanted on DGN. He's not around much anymore, but he used to be on DGNEZB. It's kind of a funny story... taking note of the fact that we both lived in Kalamazoo, we got to talking about car pooling to detroit, and general kalamazoo life stuff. Then one day we got to talking about local places to hang out, then talking about hanging out, then finally meeting for coffee, and found out that we actually lived only about two blocks away from each other. :grin

Then there was much more hanging, and D&D, and etc, etc, etc, happy happy, and Voila, I meet one of the peolple I spent most of my free time with. And through him, I met nodrew, who later joined DGN, and now dates luluvox, and was another amazing person with which to spend time espousing about the crappiness and sometimes joy of life. I love those guys... Then I went and moved to alaska... *DOH!*

Otherwise, I've met and befriended a few of you: marblez, shade, angelbeast, DarkChylde. But mostly, I don't often talk to people at all, let alone on i.m., so I'm kind of a recluse. But anyway.... topictopictopic.

I really adore and admire Troy. Even though we barely know the first thing about each other, somehow we have this odd connection of caring, or so I feel. He's the kind of guy who I would really like to get to know better in my lifetime, when I'm closer to the playing field. So Troy's like, the friend in reserve, just waiting to ripen.

And recently, I've began talking to justdave, and he's totally awesome, and yet again, another person I'd like to get to know better.

I just don't do socialization very well :tear but I'm getting better, and I've done damn well so far, stigmas aside.

somtimes its better to be forgoten.... than to be old friends....

but usually its pretty fun to develop lasting friendships. I drift in and out of DGN but try to remain friendly with those who took the time to try to know me/ understand me. ... for the rest I either ignore them... or dig a nice hole for them and then fantasize about burying them in it some day.... (ok im too lazy to dig the hole... so in reality im fantasizing about that part too)

I have known a couple people here for almost 10 years.... though i think there are a few people who dont associate the name I post under with the "real world me" (who has a much larger penis)

I like many people on the board, and enjoy seeing what is going on in other people's lives, how they think differently from me. I tend to be sort of a recluse off and on - so I am fortunate that most of my friends are accepting/used to this behavior.

I like meeting people but how to find the time??

While I technically met Jarod on Friendster way back in the summer of '03, I didn't really get to know him until much later, after I started posting more on DG.n (which he had told me about back then, but which I ignored until another friend told me about it many months later). So he's probably my main "DG.n friend." Most everyone else (Saechalyn, Meg3, etc.) kind of stemmed from him, oddly, including -- in a roundabout way -- my wonderful Drew. That's weird.

She introduced me to Jarod and a bunch of other people who were all on the board, many who became my good friends. So I didn't really form friendships on the board first, but you can say it was a springboard for me to develop offline friends.

She moved to the Seattle area last summer and I haven't heard from her since then. But some friends saw her last October and said she was doing quite well.
