Not enough people of color....

and on that matter, i noticed a huge spike in the number of "of color" people at the gathering this year.

i would assume the gathering of the juggaloo's (sp?) I am not sure as well i was no there but thats what i am thinking they mean.

I just think there is not enough people in general , i would not want to flood the scene with the main stream but i really wish that more people would be honestly more open minded and be open to this type of world and the people in it.

I know at least 4, I've seen 5 or 6 total.

I just remember hearing the term "black is beautiful" and thinking of all my goth friends. Then I heard it in a song in greg's truck (refrencing goths instead of african americans).

"I am black and you are white" maybe your friend is actually colorblind

Actuallly one of the "people of color" that I know is Isac, the christian streight edge african american.

I happen to be a moral-less streight edge white trash atheist.

YES! definitely... I was kind'a stoked about that. I'm supposed to be putting together a "ninjas of color" photo spread for DetroitJuggalos.com... took a shitload ov pix but haven't got around to tweaking 'em yet.

As for your photo spread, get ahold of the Pueblotus Pod kids, especially the beautiful sisters Magick, Mystique, and Majesstik.. all gorgeous young mexican girlies.. and their friend Skitz.. that tiny black girl that was walkin around with the collar/leash on. I love 'em all.

There are waaay more goths of color in the south and west...as there are more people of color in those areas in general.

I had 2 gothy friends in HS, one African American the other Hispanic...they got MUCH more grief than I ever did from their families and communities.

Yup. Only see two or 3 at city on any given night....no one that looks mexican....and no orientals either....which surprises me...I thought goth was becoming more popular in that community....I wonder sometimes if the Nazi skin heads are scaring some people out of CC just by being there....but I guess thats the problem of someone scared off so easy.

Err, I guess I was speaking from the generalization that the greater the number of the status quo the greater the incidence of sub-culture participation...especially as the scenes in the south, southwest and west are so much more vibrant. Good point tho...*not sure about Detroit...it is a strange place*

Metro Detroit is VERY racially polarized compared to a lot of other cities... even up here there's a lot more mixing... I see a hell ov a lot more caucasian women walking around w/little brown babies here in Lansing. So I think the general level of separate-ness & distrust in the Detroit area has a dampening effect on just about every space ov human interaction. I know a lot ov folks who are genuinely afraid to go north ov 8 mile road, so no way are they gonna venture into a club full ov crazy looking people from out there.
