Brenda Starrr Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 My son just came inside and informed me that the police are casing the area for a forst-degree rapist. I don't know what that means, but I don't feel very safe. Wayne is in Dallas, so it's even less cool. How much do you want to bet that I don't sleep tonight?
Medea Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 Oh sweetheart! I'm so sorry to hear that. I'm pretty sure that means that a suspect in a case either lives in the area, or that there had been a rape committed somewhere close by.. Keep your children close tonite...
Brenda Starrr Posted August 25, 2005 Author Posted August 25, 2005 Oh sweetheart! I'm so sorry to hear that. I'm pretty sure that means that a suspect in a case either lives in the area, or that there had been a rape committed somewhere close by.. Keep your children close tonite... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The rape was comitted against a woman in an apartment complex right down the street from me. I soooooo have the creeps right now.
Medea Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 I can definitely understand that. I get very nervous when I here of anything like that going on. Just a while back, there was a rape commited on the second floor of one of my college's libraries. Gave me the willies to even go in there.
Brenda Starrr Posted August 25, 2005 Author Posted August 25, 2005 I deadbolted everything. I locked the windows. I'm on the second floor. I just hope that I can sleep.
Paint it Black Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 This probably wont make you feel any better, but sex offenders like this usually won't attack twice in such a short period of time. Especially if he is on the run, he'll have more important things on his mind. Hope you stay safe along with everyone else in your hood and I hope the bastard gets gunned down...
bean Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 Christ, I hope that fucker gets caught....be safe, hon!
Paint it Black Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 My son just came inside and informed me that the police are casing the area for a forst-degree rapist. I don't know what that means, I think Rape in the First Degree involves serious bodily injury to the victim or if the victim is under 12 years of age. This is going soley off of memory, I took law enforcement my first year in college about 10 years ago. Each state classifies differently though. Anyways, safe to say it was a very terrible crime.
Brenda Starrr Posted August 25, 2005 Author Posted August 25, 2005 Well, obviously I'm okay so far. I slept like shit though. I'm watching the news in hopes of them saying that he was caught.
Lilith Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 A few months back, the police cam knocking on the door to as k us questions in regards to a shooting that just happened up atthe coener store, the suspects trail the dogs had picked up ended right near my house. One this guy was buy my house and two i send my kid to the same party store all time for milk or when ever he has a buck to blow etc.. three the guy shot was the owner of the store and well if any of you have your fav coner store you know all about how worried i was about him. Luckly when he was shot it went straight through the back of his head trough his kneck and it hit nothing important so John ( store owner) was okay minus some scars. scares and a hefty bill for Bullet proof glass. Brenda the only thing i can say is just try to not think about it, it will only up set your tummy every time you do. It just really took time for me to feel at ease again around here again. Time and really nothing else. Keep strong Lilith
Homicidalheathen Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 I want allot of guns and a big mean dog.
ZhukovCodeslinger Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 How does Baltimore feel about you arming yourself? (some states/cities are very against citizens having much more than a cellphone and a stolen Gideons Bible for protection....) Dogs do help.... (though if the bad guy is chased off rather than knocked off.... he can strike again) You also have to think about your kids... having an ovbious weapon* introduced into a home where there havent been any could be problematic**. (*sure there are hundreds of potential weapons in every home, but most kids dont see a frying pan and think of it as a weapon...) (** growing up with weapons in the home is much differnt than just having them plopped into your enviornment as a child) Be careful brenda.
ZhukovCodeslinger Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 I want allot of guns and a big mean dog. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Unlike the movies, most people can only shoot one at a time :laughing
Brenda Starrr Posted August 25, 2005 Author Posted August 25, 2005 We don't own guns, although I'm a good shot and it IS appealing. I was watching the news just a few minutes ago, and he hasn't been caught yet. The deal is that he attacked a woman in her apartment. He had gotten as far as ripping her clothes off and pawing at her when she convinced him that she needed to go to work and he finally let her go. So, he's out there, running around, unsatisfied. She gave a phenominal description though, according to the reports.
EvilEve Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 be safe Brenda. just keep an eye on the news. chances are, he's out of your specific area, and looking. *sends thoughts of the rat-bastard being found with his pant legs torn up from a big mean dog*
Brenda Starrr Posted August 25, 2005 Author Posted August 25, 2005 My biggest concern is that I get off tonight at 9:45. I have to go to my parents place to get my kids, and go home. I wish I weren't by myself right now. I wish Wayne were back from Dallas today instead of tomorrow.
holliwood66 Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 ugh, I have had this happen *a rapist loose in the area*. I made sure that I was extra aware when leaving or returning to my apartment. I also carried my mace with me at the ready when I came in late.
LadyWindstone Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 I have seven swords in this house and i know how to use them. I live a half mile outside detroit and I don't take chances with me or my mother.
Onyx Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 ugh, I have had this happen *a rapist loose in the area*. I made sure that I was extra aware when leaving or returning to my apartment. I also carried my mace with me at the ready when I came in late. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Although hearing that there is a rapist or violent criminal in your neighborhood really does get one's attention, I have often thought, we should all be extra aware, all the time. It should just be a habit. There's always a first victim, and most of us probably have violent people living right on our blocks. We just don't know it yet.
Brenda Starrr Posted August 26, 2005 Author Posted August 26, 2005 Now we have his composite sketch on our building door. Oh joy.
