Why do Christians keep ruining Christmas?

Although I believe in God and Jesus, I don't feel as though it's right to "push" it on anyone. It's not fair to them. I don't wish people a merry Christmas too often. Since I have friends who are Pagan, Jewish, etc, I prefer "happy holidays" as do they. You really do never know what the person you're wishing merry Christmas to believes in.

I'm really not clear whether this post was meant as sarcasm or what, but I'll say my piece in relation...

Though I consider myself non-denominational pagan, I respect everybody's right to celebrate as they see fit. And I do see Christmas as a primarily Christian holiday. I think the amount of political correctness going around these days in regard to the holiday is ridiculous.

I still tell people Merry Christmas, and will continue to do so, no matter whether I myself celebrate Yule, or whatever. It's just one greeting I use. I also use "Happy Holiday" a lot. Variety is the spice...

Also, I don't know the fine details, but from what I've heard, the ACLU hasn't filed the kind of lawsuits on behalf of non-Christians as some might have us believe. Perhaps a browse of their website might have the evidence of this, right now I'm not in the mood to get THAT into the subject.

I just think people need to relax. If someone wishes you "Merry Christmas" and you celebrate Chanukkah/Yule/NOTHING, all you have to do is smile, accept the greeting in the spirit it's delivered, and respond with what you feel is the appropriate greeting for YOU, whether it be "And Happy Chanukkah to you" or "Good day to you and yours" or whatever.

Black people don't celebrate Christmas, everyone knows they celebrate Kwaanza.

For the most part I agree with the postes that are in the thread.

This is as bad as assuming that all white people celebrate Christmas. I personally have had a very bad bible thumped experience this holiday, I will be satisfied with "Happy Holidays"

I know that quite a few of my black friends celebrate Christmas, not Kwaanza.My attorney, who is Jewish, does not celebrate Chanuka, but celebrates Christmas. It's not feasible to assume that each race celebrates specific holidays. To each his/her own.

Personally I think Christmas would be a lot less offensive without the christians.

as far as i can see she's standing by her right for freedom of speech.

i'd rather be wished a happy christmas than to just get the same old shoulder barge when i walk down the street.

now i'm stopping there before i go into another rant. i'm saving them for a book i8'm gonna publish thats gonna build me a nice house and as many christmas tree's that i can grow on my 6.5 acres
