Role Call!

More randomness...

To the one's with the kid(s):

Have you ever mistakenly called your child/children by the wrong name, or mixed them up with one of their siblings?

To the one's without:

Have you called someone by a name that wasn't their own? You don't know where the hell the name came from, but it came flying out of your mouth before you could stop it?

Personally, i think it's funny! i use to laugh at my mom when she would accidently call me by one of my sister's names, then they would come running because they heard their name.

if this has happened to you, let's hear some of the stories. what names have you been called lately?

omg every one in this house gets called everything but the name they have been given, i even yell for the dog or cats when i want a kid and i normal end with every one looking at me and i say well if i did not say your name then u r the one i want.

thankfully (i am sure now i will) I have never called out the name of another while in bed with a person. I would be horrifid if i did cause i am not one to think of other people while doing it. But if i did i think this would be the topper to all the mis placed name calling.

I always end up calling my son, Nathan, one of my nephews names. Aaron, Aiden or Benjimin.. they all have names that end with N.

I never call my daughter anything but her name since she's the only girl.

I have a humongous(sp?) family, 5 aunts, 2 uncles, and somewhere of about 25 cousin ranging from 35years to 8 monthes old. Holidays are great, because my gandma just goes through the list until she finally hits your name: "Shirley-Jewell-Patty-Bonnie-Frankie-Nichole-Chelsea-Hannah-Lorene-Megan!"

My daughters' names are Akasha & Kacey, and we call Akasha "Kasha" for short. So when I get very frustrated it's Kash-Kac-Kash--WHATEVER CHILD YOU ARE!!

My dad does that to me now and then. That is due to the fact that I haven't seen him since I graduated in 1992 and have only talked to him maybe 5 times since. My brother, on the other hand, has visited my dad down in Florida a few times and talked to him over the phone a lot. Mostly because he needed to be connected to someone so he chose my dad.

Ok now this is wierd. My sister and I were talking about this just the other day...we don't know if its a 'fraudian' slip or what but I always call my oldest (twin) Teresa....my older sisters name....and she always calls her only and tiny like me daughter, Windy..my name.

I think Listel reminds me of Teresa somehow....just 4 minutes makes all the difference...and of coarse having twins sometimes I go beyond getting the names mixed up, I combine them. Like when I am mad and yelling in a hurry. I go:Listasha.....ha. They hate that. It's Listel and Natasha.

Yesterday I looked at my son and called him Aymee!!!

I've called Michael (my son) Daniel (my husband) and Daniel I've called Michael. I should have named him Daniel jr!!!

My mom calles my daughter by my name all the time.

i think that it has something to do with the fact that whomever you're trying to call/talk to, they remind you of someone, so you say that name. obviously, if it's your child, then of course they're going to remind you of someone... they're half you, and that other person! i look similar to my mother, and my grandma and aunt slip, and sometimes call me by her name. it's really funny.

Sorry to be a grammar Nazi, but isn't it roll call?

:erm

I only have two, but I use the same methodology.... :grin

I do that all the time...(part of the problem is bad memory). This is why I never use people's names in bed because I don't want to accidently scream out the wrong name.

Sometimes I will call up friends on the phone and use the wrong name when I leave a message. Example: I'm calling Niki, but when I leave a message it goes : Hey Tina this is Rachel.....or it will go: Hey Rachel (my name), this is Niki (her name).... :doh

My mom sometimes calls me by one of her cats names or she will call one of the cats by my name!

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

yes grammar Nazi... i just realized it after i posted it... see, this is why english is confusing sometimes... we have different words that sound the same that mean different things... and i use to want to be an english teacher, and i put the wrong word in thinking it meant something else! :blink my fault

I have 4 kids. Emily, Ashley, Austin and Elijah. Price I pay for naming them all similar. I can't distinguish which one is which at hardly any given time. I usually go through them all and get to the dog's name before I settle for "you!"

My niece, when trying to be cute and ask a favor sometimes ends up running thru the names of her friends before getting to mine. Thinking she doesn't need anymore gifts from me.
