Religion and Politics

I know threads can take a life of their own, but can we please keep to the original intent of the topic on this one?

What do you think of the role of religion in political partisanship?

Do you think there is a logical disconnect between the party choices and the values that that religion boasts?

There is a connect... There always will be.... The concept of seperation of religion and politics in the grand scheme of things is a brand new concept to humans, and the idea is not excepted everywhere in the world by any stretch of the imagination.

For multiple millenia, politicians and priests/spiritual leaders were one and the same. If you were to say to some one "is this a church matter or a matter for the government?" They would say "yes" and look at you funny.

The disconnect as mentioned at this point is only superficial, the same "type" of person who becomes powerful in politics is the same "type" of person who becomes powerful in the world of religion.

I personally would like there to be a major and real disconnect, but that is only my opinion, and given human nature, not wholly possible at this point. My spirituality is mine and mine alone. My politics are part of the world we live in. I know that I am in a manority in this sense.

But when you have politicians that make references to prayer, intelligent design, and what God would or would not do... I don't see much of a difference between how a Pharoa might have regarded himself and how a President may regard themself, at least in a deeper sense.

except in bolshevik socialist russia and any facist gov like musalini's itally were mafia and church alike were hunted equally in the name of equality. commie's what a joke right. any institution that held finance or influence was regarded as an enemy of the state. if it were'nt for lucky luciano we would not have been able to invade itally in wwII or keep are docks safe for our ships in new york.

we should consider the importence of organized crime as well as there is just as much relevence as religion as far as politics go.

ask whats more inportant in politics today in america religion or organized corruption? neither could be seperated nor should they be. the seperate influences have hidden checks and balences that make the world turn and keep us free from facist governmeant

I have no idea why I'm even on all of these call lists that are on Robo-Dial by A.I.  One is a female voice and the other is a male voice and all they did was change the name that they give you.  I did get put through to a few live people to try to ask them to remove me from their list, but they, the telemarketer, hung up on me.   It's like I'm living "Telemarketers Revenge" for all the years of people handing up on them.   I always spoke with the telemarketer and then wished them a good day before hanging up.  And this is what I get for all of my decades of kindness.  I don't think I deserve this, but the World has lost a lot of the niceties that it used to have when I was growing up.  And no...COVID did not cause this.  I'm also getting tired of that excuse.  Its been 6 years!  People felt they were given the Green Light to be anti-social and rude to your face and now it is part of society just like everything else Mainstream adopts and considers it a cultural add-on.   I just hope I can survive this onslaught of calls blowing up my phone until it dies down.  Else, I will place a block on my number and only allow calls from family, friends and medical associated with my job.

This is crazy.   I had to mute my phone because I am getting 50+ calls a day regarding Life Insurance, Medical Insurance, Burial Benefits, a Senior Food Expense Card, a Senior Social Security monthly reimbursement benefit, etc., and I don't qualify for any of it.  I don't even meet the age requirement.   At current, I have 53 missed calls and 38 of them were from yesterday.
